Limelight Sketch #6

Every second Thursday, the wonderful Brandi Parshley introduces a fun new sketch challenge and product focus for us to play with! And today is Thursday! Yay!!

This week we're calling for you to get out your hardware!
That's right, put down the glitter for one day and get out some metallic elements for "manly" cards! Don't boo at me (or Brandi, since this is her idea)! ;)

We want to see brads, eyelets, spiral clips, ribbon slides, metal frames, even paper, or maybe some duct tape stickers!

There are lots of great products at Limelight to use, but if you don't have anything from Limelight, just use what you do have!

**Sketch and Product Challenge with a focus on hardware for cards for men.
**Uploads to SCS should have the keyword: LLPC006
**Post a link to your card over on MY BLOG (here) by Sunday night (Oct 19) to be entered in a random drawing to WIN duct tape stickers and a package each of the large black eyelet brads and the small gunmetal eyelet brads!

I apologize that I've been quite sick this week, so I have not yet created a sketch challenge card. I will hopefully be able to do that today and add in a card! :) I cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Against the law to get sick as a mom....that is so true katie!! :) :) :).

I did the card challenge today, it was great....and I opened up some hardware I bought 6 months ago I haven't used. I am very excited, although I can't post a picture because my entire downstairs is in the garage, kitchen or front yard...so once it's all returned to normal and everything is hooked up I will post the picture :) LOL

I hope you are feeling better soon! I know somewhat of how you feel..I had both a sinus infection and mastitis at the same time. Just rotten!

I loved this sketch (thanks, Brandi!) and found it so easy to works with. Here's my take:http://mylittlecreativeescape.blogspot.com/2008/10/end-of-another-season.html
I added white twill (love this stuff from the Limelight store!) and bigger brads to add to the masculine feel.

I tried to meet the challenge! I got the sketch down and had the my metal out. The ribbon slide didn't look right (too girly for me)and then I didn't want to put the brads through the base card. So I just left them off and finished the card. I didn't realize that I completely left off my metal until I was uploading my card on SCS. What a dork I am! For what it is worth, here it is: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1097419?cat=12324. Thanks for the challenge!
