Supah Cute!

How cute are these pictures?!? Katy received this little pink bunny hat as a gift recently, and it looks so cute on her! We had to take pictures...and of course Cameron wanted to pose a little, too. :)

And this was a cute picture of Katy trying to get her pacifier. Heh heh...

Lemonade

Stamps: Lemonade Sign (justjohanna). Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Spring Flowers DP (SU!). Ink: Black. Accessories: Pure Color Pencils, Black Brads, Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, DD Glitter.
It seems like a funny day to post about lemonade. It's 39 degrees here and gray and, well, dismal outside! But who can resist the taste of a tart, refreshing, ice-cold glass of lemonade? And almost as wonderful is a great lemonade stamp image! I love all things citrusy when it comes to stamps! I love the look of the glitter on the lemons, and I HAD to use touches of pink on this card. It just made me think of pink lemonade!

While we're talking about lemonade, I thought I'd share my favorite homemade lemonade recipe. It's a little bit of work, but it is SO worth it! If you've ever made homemade lemonade, you know what I mean. The recipe is from Southern Living Magazine...

Prep: 10 min., Cook: 5 min. Use one cup of sugar if you plan to serve lemonade with a simple syrup. To extract the most juice from lemons, microwave them at HIGH for about 15 seconds.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water

1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar object

1 tablespoon grated lemon rind (about 2 lemons)

1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 13 lemons)

7 cups ice water

Preparation:

1. Bring 1/2 cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in sugar and grated lemon rind, stirring until sugar is dissolved; remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice and ice water.
Limeade: Substitute 1 Tbsp. grated lime rind for lemon rind and 1 1/2 cups fresh lime juice for lemon juice, and proceed with recipe as directed.
Yield: Makes 2 1/2 qt.

Blog Candy Winner!

The winner is lucky number 6! Anonymous said...
Happy New Year!!! We had a get together with families and had a hot pot dinner. Thanks for sharing.

Kinda funny that this person was anonymous, but that's okay! If they will e-mail me with an address, I'll get the goodies out in the mail next week! :)

Here is a simple tag that I made. I thought it would be fun to put the flourish on the tea cup!

Stamps: grand teacup, floral flourish left (justjohanna). Ink: Chocolate Chip. Paper: Very Vanilla, Rose Red. Accessories: Hemp twine, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Stickles, 1/8" Hole Punch.

Blog Candy Time!

Hello! I promised blog candy, and here it is. I have a studio g set of clear stamps (Series 6), a clear block to go with it, a be. chipboard mini album, and a DCWV vellum Quotes Stack in Rock King. Leave a comment on this post telling me what you did for New Year's Eve and I'll choose a winner by random generator (read: You didn't HAVE to do anything exciting for New Year's Eve!) on Friday!

I also have to share a few quick pictures.... First, here is Cameron. He decided to get a pair of my socks out of the sock drawer this morning, then he took his socks off and put mine on. I was surprised that he actually succeeded at getting the socks on his feet!

And here is a quick picture of Katy attending to one of her FAVORITE pasttimes, sleeping!
Her other favorite pasttime, for those of you who are wondering, is eating. ;)

New Year's Laughs

Hi and happy new year! :) I hope it is off to a good start for everyone! This is a busy week in our family. Not only do we have a new baby, as you know, this week holds New Year's and New Year's Eve, my dad's birthday (tomorrow), and Drew's and my anniversary (Friday)! Tomorrow I will post my dad's birthday card (he has to see it first!), and I hope to be on later today to post a card or two (and yes, Mom, some pictures of the kids!). But for now, how about something that just makes me laugh?!? Remember the song "Baby Got Back"? This is a parody of that by Dan Smith (Southpaw). It's called "Baby Got Book"... Follow the link to You Tube and enjoy!
