Your Gift...

We love Rhett and Link. If you haven't checked them out, you should! I want to share a couple of fun videos by Rhett and Link today. It should be known that I do NOT, in any way, believe that gifts are the meaning of Christmas. Christ came to earth 2000 years ago as a tiny baby to save us. That's the truth.

But these are just for fun... ;)

This week we encourage you to stop, and take a minute to do something for yourself! Grab your favorite patterned papers (or wrapping paper for the multitaskers!) and sit down with our simple sketch. We can't wait to see what you'll create!

So how 'bout that? I made a card! It's a quick one, but I did it! I'm hoping to play with this challenge more later. Brandi always does SUCH a great job with these sketches. I find myself using them again and again! When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of Neopolitan ice cream! This Stampendous Ice Cream Float stamp is so much fun, and it fit perfectly with my idea! :) I used a few brads I received from my sweet DT friends as RAKs during our 12 Days of Christmas! Isn't that so sweet? They sent ME some cards and goodies during our 12 Days Celebration! :) For the scallops, I used the SU! Scalloped Border Punch.

Romans 12:13

I'm deeply saddened to say that my sweet friend Tonya (primpainter on SCS) and her family are experiencing a time of grief and hardship. Her in-laws' house burned down last week. Everything was lost, and Tonya's father-in-law did not survive.

I would like to call on us all to help out our friends in need. Not only would cards (sympathy and encouragement) be in order, but there are many physical needs for this family right now as well. Tonya has set up this following webpage with information on how to help. If you can help, please do.

Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:13

On the 8th Day of Christmas

Also, be sure to check out my wonderful friend Sarah Anderson's wonderfully inspirational (and FUN!) blog for a Christmas Music game. Sarah will have a Unity Fleeting Dragonfly stamp for one lucky winner!

I hope to be back later today with a fun project or card to share... It has been QUITE a busy weekend! A GREAT one, but busy. On Saturday we attended my husband's office Christmas Party. And on Sunday? Whew...we went to church, then we grabbed lunch and went to a local nursing home to deliver blankets and the cards (from the cardmaking night I hosted at the church!) AND we did a short singing and drama program. Then we headed to Michael's with our FEW MINUTES of spare time to pick up some things on SALE...we headed back to church just in time for Awana to start. Then we had to go to the grocery store on the way home. Sundays aren't normally NEARLY this busy! WHEW! We're tired! But it was SUCH a wonderful Sunday.

So, how 'bout a cute kiddos pic? My in-laws were so sweet as to give Cameron and Katy a Christmas ornament each this weekend (Katy got Mickey Mouse...she LOVES Mickey!) and Cameron got Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a movie he recently saw for the first time! :) Here they are playing with their ornaments. Note that Katy HAS her ornament in her hand, but she is eagerly attempting to take Cameron's as well! Ha! ;)

Six Chicks Project Parade on the 6th Day of Xmas!

Wow! What a day today is! :) Not only is it the SIXTH Day of Christmas at Limelight Papercrafts, meaning a fun challenge, sales, and PRIZES, but today is also the 6th of the month. That means that each of the Limelight Six Chicks (design team members) and the 7th Six Chick (the exceptionally talented Tiffany Johnson) are bringing you lots of fabulousness and inspiration!!

This month, I challenged the girls to create a treat or baked good container with either a matching card or recipe card! You MUST check out each and every creation!! :) For mine, I was inspired by Martha Stewart (who isn't, right?) and created a Cookie Envelope! (Did you hear me, Lee? A COOKIE envelope!!) The directions for the cookie envelope are quite simple! You cut an 8" square of patterned paper (Martha suggests tissue paper, but I had fun with patterned paper!), fold in the sides, and then fold in the top and bottom. That's IT. Really! I actually cut a 7" square of wax paper and secured it inside the patterned paper piece before folding so that the cookie wouldn't get the paper all oily and yucky. Eww. If you want to see Martha's instructions, CLICK HERE.

Are you wondering what kind of cookie is inside? SNICKERDOODLES! YUM! I use THIS RECIPE, and I have for a long while. It's Emeril's recipe, and it's easy and FANTASTIC. You will love it!

Stamps: Tinsel Town Clear Stamp Set (Pink Paislee). Paper: Tinsel Town - White Christmas. WNP Moss, White. Ink: Bravo Burgundy (SU), Silver Colorbox, Pistachio Colorbox. Accessories: Brown Satin Ribbon, Green Rick Rack, Paper Piercer, Pop Up Dots.

And on the Sixth Day of Christmas....
BECKY brings to us Christmas Bingo!!! Be sure to visit her blog HERE and play along! She's have a package each of Hot Pink Rhinestones and a Bell Rhinestone Picture up for grabs!! And don't forget...you'll be entered into the grand prize drawing for each challenge in which you participate!

Limelight brings to you Pyramid Boxes (in white or red!) for ONLY $0.50 each! Stock up! These are great boxes for little gifts like jewelry or candy...any small trinket, really! Be sure to pick up a few to try! Click HERE for the deals!

Friday Fill-in!

Are you tired of my posts today??? This is a fun Friday Fill-in. Found it through Jessica's blog.

1. Snow means a day off of work!
2. I'm looking forward to our Christmas Workshop at church.
3. The Limelight Papercrafts design team is the best design team ever!
4. One of my favorite old tv shows is Joe Millionaire. That's not REALLY old, but it just popped into my head...Drew and I LOVED that show!
5. I'm done with breakfast. And that is about it so far today! ;)
6. The most enjoyable thing around the holidays is the food. Heehee!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having nothing on the calendar, tomorrow my plans include my husband's work Christmas party and Sunday, I want to deliver cards and lapghans to a local nursing home!

Don't forget to scroll down for a FUN Christmas project (an Advent Calendar!!) and today's 12 Days Details!!

4th Day of Christmas Winner!

Drew really challenged us, didn't he??? :) But hey, you know we like to make you WORK for the prizes around here! ;)

Random.org chose #2...Tonya! Tonya, you won a package of Black Arrow rhinestones and a package of Pear Tree Brads! E-mail me with your address and I'll get 'em out your way! :)

Also, I'm adding a winners list to the original 12 Days of Christmas post HERE. That way it's all in one place! Have a fabulous day, and check out the post below!!

On the 5th Day of Christmas

I just love Target. I mean LOVE!!! I live for those sale endcaps, as my husband can attest to! Right after Halloween, I spotted Halloween countdown calendar boxes for 75% off! I had to buy four of them! ;) They were filled with a gummy in each box, but I replaced the gummies with Hershey Kisses (Cherry Cordial and Hot Cocoa flavors) and little Christmas sayings and quotes. As you can see, I used the Basic Grey Wassail papers and some embellishments to decorate the calendar! Silly me, though...I forgot to take pictures of the sides. I covered the sides and back using the Mantle paper, and it looks very nice! :) Take my word for it! I made this for my dad...it should get to him tomorrow. I hope he likes it!
This picture shows the drawers a little closer up:

And here is the little chocolate and note inside:

Well, to carry on our festivities, Six Chick Ryann Salamon has a blurred photo guessing game for you to play! Be sure to visit her blog and enter! :) Remember, the more you play, the better your chances to win....both the individual challenges and the GRAND PRIZE!!

a bank robber, a viking, and an IRS agent.

Ashley, call you buttah....Cuz you're on a roll! I'll send the brads along with the prize you won from Lisa's blog! :)

Oh, and Cheri....you ARE technically correct! ;) The first two cookies are offered by Larry, and they DO just kinda float off of the plate in implication that they are accepted! ;) Too funny!

Check out Drew's 4th Day of Christmas post below....and don't forget that Sliding Doors are on sale for ONLY $5 in the store today!

The 4th Day of Christmas...with Mr. Limelight!

1-“It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.

2-Look, Daddy. Teacher says every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.

3-“I like smiling. Smiling’s my favorite”.

4-“No, no. I mean "Jingle Bells". You know, deck them halls and all that stuff. No, no, no. You don't get it at all. I mean "Jingle Bells". You know, Santa Claus, and ho-ho-ho, and mistletoe... and presents for pretty girls...”

5-“Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?”

6-“Please note the size and color of each item, and send as many as possible. If it seems too complicated, make it easy on yourself: just send money. How about tens and twenties?

7-“Happy birthday! Hey, I said my first words. But... But snowmen can't talk. Ha ha ha, come on now, what's the joke? Could I really be alive?”

8-“No! No! I want an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle!”

9-“This is extremely important. Will you please tell Santa that instead of presents this year, I just want my family back. No toys, nothing but Peter, Kate, Buzz, Megan, Linnie and Jeff. And my aunt and my cousins. And if he has time, my Uncle Frank. Okay?”

10-“Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to. Don't you see? It's not just Kris that's on trial, it's everything he stands for. It's kindness and joy and love and all the other intangibles.”

11-“Why am I such a misfit? I am not just a nitwit. You can't fire me, I quit. Seems I don't fit in.”

12-“It's just like Santa's workshop! Except it smells like mushrooms... and everyone looks like they wanna hurt me...”

13-“There's no Christmas in the Army!”

14-“And they call him, Sandy... Clawssss...!”

15-“Always winter. Never Christmas.”

16-“You're skipping Christmas! Isn't that against the law?”

17-“Come in, come in, Ebenezer. I am the spirit of Christmas Present. Look upon me...you've never seen the likes of me before, have you?"

18-“It's a miracle, it's really sort of a miracle, because it happens every Christmas Eve.”
