Tuesday Trigger and Wrinkle Ribbon!

Hello there! :) I was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger posted today, so I rushed to make this card! I loved the florals and the PINKS in the picture, and I brought those out in my card.
I used a Basic Gray (SU) cardstock base and added two of the papers from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper pad. I actually made the wrinkle ribbon using white seam binding and Razzle Dazzle Berry Shimmerz Vibez! I LOVE how this bright pink ribbon turned out...almost like a tie-dye effect...and shimmery of course! :) I tied the ribbon in a bow and attached a PTI button threaded with black string. I think my favorite thing about this happy card is the sentiment! I affixed a Basic Grey Basics Greetings Rub-on over the center of the flower on the patterned paper for a fun effect. I added one small Silver Rhinestone to the tiny black daisy on the rub-on to accent it and add a little texture.
This card was so much fun to create....hope you love it, too! And I hope you try to make your own wrinkle ribbon, too! :)

SKETCH 50: STRING!

Welcome, blog friends! Thanks for stopping by! I am excited to present our FIFTIETH sketch and product challenge to you today! :) The focus is on string, so pull out your favorite threads and strings, and play along with us!

My card features one of my FAVORITE new stamp sets. It's Bake Me a Cake from Lawn Fawn. A definite must-have, in my opinion...there are so many options!! I chose a white cardstock base with patterned paper layers from the Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper pad. The cupcakes from the Bake Me a Cake stamp set were stamped in black ink, and the frostings were paper pieced using the same patterned papers. Each cupcake is topped with a Hot Pink Rhinestone "cherry". I colored the bottoms of the cakes using my Koh-i-noor pencils. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the same stamp set as well, but I inked it one word at a time so that the words would be right next to each other instead of on top of one another. I wrapped a length of black string around the card and tied it through a Calypso Mento Pastel Prima flower and a PTI button before tying a bow.

Be sure to check out each of our talented DT's cards... Christi is working on getting her new home ready, but be sure to check out her blog soon for some new creations! :) I am the first stop on our sketch challenge blog hop, and from here you'll want to visit my sweet friend Jennie!!

NEW RIBBON!!

We just welcomed some NEW RIBBON in at Limelight Papercrafts!! Helloooooo, BEAUTIFUL!

May Arts Wrinkled Ribbon, staying on trend with the wrinkled ribbon craze! :) Check out that summery lime color! And, of COURSE, a cool, crisp white to coordinate with almost anything! (PSST! Click HERE to see how you can use Shimmerz Spritz and make your OWN custom wrinkled ribbon, too!)

A doubled lace trim! This stuff is GORGEOUS! Just like the last crochet trim we carried, which was out of stock at May Arts, this ribbon is soft, feminine, and in high demand right now! This ribbon can easily be trimmed in half for skinnier ribbon that is EVEN MORE economical! (Twice the ribbon for your money!)

Pink NET jute ribbon? I've said enough. ;)

Burlap strings have been restocked....and say hello to new BLACK burlap string! This string is fabulously perfect for threading through buttons or wrapping around a card!

Don't forget, if you are a newsletter subscriber, that today is the last day to use the discount code found in your June 12 newsletter! And Unity June kits are still ONLY $29!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #34

Happy Thursday, sweet friends! I am so excited to report that Limelight Papercrafts is again sponsoring The Play Date Cafe Challenge! Thanks so much for joining me today, and I hope you'll participate in being inspired by this BEAUTIFUL photo! The color story for this week is black and white with a POP of BLUE! (You can choose the shade of blue!) I cannot wait to see what you come up with!! :)
For my anniversary card, I used a white cardstock base and added on a layer of K & Company fabric! I picked up this package of fabric at Michael's the other day on clearance! :) A black strip of cardstock, puched with the SU Scalloped Border Punch was placed across the bottom of the card. I tied on some Wrinkled Ribbon that I made (I simply wet and scrunched up some seam binding because I wanted this to remain really WHITE) and layered on a fabric flower. I made this flower using the same K & Company fabric package (a different piece, obviously! haha!). I made the flower using the same method as I did on this card...using Rae Barthel's tutorial. I stamped the "happy anniversary" sentiment in Frost White ink using PTI's Fillable Frames 4 set. The sentiment was punched using an SU label punch and accented with Silver Rhinestones. I added a Making Memories black and white clip to the top of the fabric as well, to carry through with the black and white theme. The clips were also on clearance! 99 cents for EIGHT! :)
Be sure to visit The Play Date Cafe, link up your creation, and get entered to win a fabulous prize!! We are sending one lucky winner two bottles of Shimmerz Vibez Miniz (that's a lot of z's!)! We'll send Hot Fudge and Razzle Dazzle Berry. These will be in the store SOON at Limelight Papercrafts!

Wrinkled Ribbon :)

Guess what I made? Wrinkled ribbon! Did you know that you can make wrinkled seam binding ribbon (all the rage right now!) using Shimmerz sprays and seam binding?!? Check out this video by Tammy Tutterow to see how to make it (PSST! SO EASY!). I used Mud Pie and Baby's Breath Shimmerz Spritz to make my white seam binding yellowish-brown, then I used my heat embossing tool to burn some of the edges for more of an antiqued look. I love it! The best thing is that this shimmery ribbon imparts some of the sparkles off onto the cardstock you are using!! See it in the picture? The card base is Jillibean Soup in Black Bean... and the little epoxy button is from Making Memories.
On a store note, we will be receiving lots of Shimmerz Vibez very soon...I am so excited about this new possibility for the Shimmerz! :)

Add ImageKaren's gorgeous colors...and that ruffly ribbon!...drew me in! (Psst! Karen is in the running for Paper Crafts Gallery Idol!!)

I love the way Lisa V combined such beautiful colors, a tad of glitter, and a clever butterfly-trail sentiment!

Laurel made 2 cards... I loved them BOTH! :)

Ann's card is full of careful simplicity...and some awesome rhinestone accents! :)

Sherry's texture and patterns really made her card stand out to me, along with the pops of turquoise and raspberry off of all that white! Gorgeous!

Birthday Balloons

Good morning, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and are having a great start to your new week! We had a busy weekend here, but a fun one! We participated in Relay for Life (an event to raise money for the American Cancer Society), celebrated a friend's birthday, tailgated at the graduation of a teen in our youth group, and had dinner with some wonderful friends! My husband was nice enough to take the kids out and let me have some crafting time Saturday night, too. :)

One of the cards I made is this one here. I used a Hawaiian Shores base (I love turquoise in the summer!). I used the PTI set Everyday Button Bits for the balloon image, and I added on some cute buttons for the actual balloons! I wrapped some Natural Burlap String (back in stock soon!) around the card and tied it in a bow where the balloons are tied together. The "happy" and "birthday" words are from the Get to the Point Additions set. I stamped the "happy" directly on the paper, and I stamped "birthday" on a piece of Orange Zest cardstock. I added an Aquamarine rhinestone and v-cut the edge.

I'll be back soon with the Sketch 49 winner! You still have a little time to link to your beautiful creation! :)

Moxie Fab Bicycle

Good morning! This is the first morning of summer for me, so I decided to begin by creating a card for some challenges. I was very excited about the I Want to Ride My Bicycle challenge on Moxie Fab World. I recently purchased the Everyday Button Bits stamp set from PTI, so I knew just the bicycle to use. :) I hope you'll play along with this challenge, too...what a great theme with which to start summer. :)
I used CPS Sketch 67 for this card; it's such a great sketch!! I used a Berry Sorbet card base, and added two Lemon tart pieces to the top and bottom. I embossed those Lemon Tart pieces with the Sunshine embossing plate from PTI. I layered some Berry Sorbet Ribbon and Buttons onto that. For the focal image, I stamped my bicycle in black onto white cardstock. I colored selected areas with a black Koh-i-noor pencil, and I painted the rest using a coral SU Watercolor Wonder Crayon. The black buttons were added on and accented with Silver Rhinestones. I think they kind of look like spoke decorations. :) I stamped the sentiment in Berry Sorbet. Two pieces of Swiss Dot Lemon Tart Ribbon accent the side.
I hope you have a fabulous day! Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to enter our sketch challenge!!

Sketch 49: BUTTERFLIES!

Today is a beautiful day. :) It is the last day of school for the year, and I couldn't be more thrilled!! I am more ready than ever to enjoy summer with my kiddos! Obviously, today is also a sketch challenge day, and I am so thrilled to have you joining me today!

I was really in the mood to create a bold, bright card, so that's exactly what I did. My color palette consists of Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz, black, and a little white. I punched my scallops with the SU Scallop Border Punch and stuck on some Silver Rhinestones. I tied some Raven Tulle in a knot around that layer. The focus, my butterflies were cut using the SU Embosslits die Beautiful Wings on Jillibean Soup Staples in Black Sugar. The sentiment comes from the BRAND NEW Lawn Fawn set Bake Me a Cake. Such an adorable set!! I really wanted to use the cakes on this card, but they didn't fit the theme... Soon, I guarantee! :)

We are going to continue with a Blog Hop through the DT members' cards, so your next stop is with my friend Christi!

Tag. You're it! :)

Quick WOW ;)

I love Target. :) Who doesn't, really? I found these great epoxy stickers (very on-trend...lots of rainbows and colors in the package) for $1 in their scrapbooking aisle. Made for a very quick, easy card! The cardstock is Pure Poppy, and I tied on some Natural Burlap String (May Arts).
It's the end of the school year (I am a teacher), and things are pretty hectic! But Thursday is our last day, and the countdown is ON! Also, Thursday is our Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge (we are using BUTTERFLIES!!), so check back!
Big sales are coming. I mean BIG! Keep your eyes peeled... ;)

Weddings with Limelight

Happy 6th! Today the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team is sharing wedding-themed projects with you... Accessories, gifts, cards...all things wedding! Be sure to check out each of our talented DT members to see what they've come up with!

I was asked to create a wedding guest book for a couple who got married yesterday at our church. The bride wanted something bound in a way that could be taken apart. She wanted to leave some of the pages at each entrance to the church, and then she wanted to be able to have it bound together. I picked up an 8.5x11 scrapbook from WalMart, and I literally tore it apart! I took off all of the decorative paper covering the front and back and pulled the pieces apart. I covered it with some simple white satin fabric. The front cover is puffed up by adding in some polyester batting. I wrapped a length of ribbon around the top of the front cover and secured it with some Fabri-Tac glue, which was instrumental in holding this project together. I tied a bow and added a Webster's Pages Bloomer in Petal to the center of the bow. I also added this Fabric Fancy because of its beautiful words... "One hundred hearts would be too few to carry all my love for you." :)

My card for the happy couple is one of my dress cards. It's been a while since I've made one of these. :) I drew the pattern myself on a quarter sheet of cardstock, then traced and cut out the card. I stamped flowers from Lawn Fawn's Petite Florals set (pssst! Did you know we have NEW Lawn Fawn at Limelight??) in coral pink colors. I wrapped some white satin ribbon around the waist and then snipped two pieces to hang down, as a sash would. A single Webster's Pages Bloomer in Petal covers the ribbon at the side. No bride is complete without stunning jewelry, so I added some Kaisercraft Pearls to create a necklace.
I truly hope that my projects will inspire you to create something wonderful for a happy couple this summer. Be sure to visit each of our DT members' blogs to see what lovely creations they have come up with!

Play Date Cafe #32

Happy Thursday, everyone! Limelight Papercrafts is sponsoring Play Date Cafe this week, and the colors are SO beautiful that I'm SURE you'll want to join in! The colors are lemon, pale peach, and peach (anything you have in those shades will be wonderful!). I immediately thought of my Webster's Pages!

My card features a Melon Berry base, and I layered on a strip of Webster's Pages across the middle. I then added one of the fabulous Life's Portrait Fabric Fancies for the main focus/sentiment. I accented with some Petal Bloomers. If you look carefully, you'll notice that I used some PTI distressing inks (Vintage Touch Tea Dye) to distress the fabric and flowers a little. I also added some Pearls to the centers of the roses, and Diamond Stickles around the edges.

Be sure to visit The Play Date Cafe, link up your creation, and get entered to win a fabulous prize!! We are sending one lucky winner Lawn Fawn's How Delightful stamp set & a package of Jillibean Soup Canvas Flowers in Red Polkas!
