Sketch Challenge 28: Stickers!!

*Don't forget to leave a comment on THIS POST by Friday night at midnight for a chance to win one of our new Cosmo Cricket 6x6 Mini Deck Paper Pads!! :)

Here we are at another Limelight Sketch and Product challenge!! We are celebrating at Limelight with the arrival of our Cosmo Cricket products, so I thought it would be fitting to use Cosmo Cricket products for today's sketch! Well, that and the fact that I couldn't WAIT to break into these bad boys... ;)

I went simple with the sketch, because the sketch is, well, simple! I saw snowflakes when I saw the three circles, so I layered three of the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly chipboard snowflakes. I used the JBG Mini Deck patterned paper for the base, and I layered on some SU Kraft to maintain a soft look. I sponged white craft ink around the edges and I stamped "cool" from Mix Up of Cuteness (Unity) in Colorbox Aqua! I moved the location of the two small circles by adding Soft Pink Rhinestones to the bottom of the kraft layer, and I added a few more Island Lagoon Rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes. Love how this turned out! So soft and pretty!

The Details:
**Use the sketch above and dress it up with STICKERS!! Flat or chipboard, all are game!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC028
**Post a comment with a link to your card right here on this post by Sunday, August 23, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~
One lucky winner will receive a package of Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Icon Rub-ons (pictured above)! (Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)

It's All About JESUS!

Drew asked me to make a card for a teenage boy who accepted Christ during our church service yesterday, and I remembered the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge that our wonderful DT member Lorie is involved with! This is a brand new card challenge blog in which a Bible verse is posted, and you create a card inspired by that verse. Clever, right? :) I LOVE the idea, and I was totally inspired in SO many ways by this week's verse... But I had to choose one... For now at least! :) I do hope that you will check this challenge out and post a card for it! They are offering up a Happy Birthday stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs (how generous!) to one lucky winner! All you have to do is link up a card or project by Saturday, August 29.

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 (NIV)

I thought of so many things that could be inspired by this verse, but what really jumps out is the sentiment I created on my card.... It's all about JESUS! He is the Source and the Life! I inked only part of the "It's all about you" sentiment to read "It's all about", and then I attached the Basic Grey Chip Alpha stickers to spell "JESUS"! Obviously, these are inked on the top only with Adirondack Pitch Black ink.

Have a wonderful day! And be sure to think about this truth!

Stamps: Doo Dads, A Dad of All Kinds (Unity). Paper: GP White, OA Night Light - Jack. Ink: SU White Craft, Riding Hood Red, Adirondack Pitch Black. Accessories: White EP, Black Silk Ribbon, Sponge, Basic Grey Piper Micro Chip ABC's - White Chocolate.

SILK RIBBON WINNER!

Michelle, e-mail me at mandy@limelightpapercrafts.com with your address, and I'll send this gorgeous ribbon out your way! :)

20% Off Sale!

Now is the time to stock up on stickers for this week's Sketch and Product Challenge AND to try out those NEW embellishments, like Pops or Woolies, from Basic Grey!

Now through Sunday, August 23, receive 20% off:

Silk Ribbon Cards...and RIBBON GIVEAWAY! :)

GIVEAWAY IS OVER... CONGRATS TO MICHELLE (Michelle (mla1111) )!!

I couldn't WAIT to play with this new silk ribbon we got in from May Arts! It's so soft and luxurious! The great thing about it is that it looks GORGEOUS on cards. The bad thing is that I want to HOARD it and save it all for myself! You know, to look at and pet and stroke and... You know how it goes. ;)

I used the Lemonade papers from Basic Grey on a Mud Pie base (on clearance!) to create these almost identical cards. The glittery flower cardstock elements are actually from the Lemonade Do Me a Favor Kits! Yep! Isn't that cool? In addition to the fabulous treat containers you get in the kit (see HERE for favor sample!), you get tons of extra glittery tags and elements, all in coordinating colors from the Lemonade Line. I have loved my kit; it's a great deal! I tied my Ivory Silk Ribbon around the card and tied a pretty bow, then adhered the final cardstock flower onto the center of the bow. Cute, right? :)

So... You want a yard of this same fabulous Ivory Silk Ribbon that I used on my above cards? Leave a comment on this post, and I'll choose a winner Monday night after 8:00! Good luck, and have a blessed Sunday! :)

Etsy Inspired Challenge #49

I decided to play along with the Etsy Inspired challenge this week. I LOVE doing challenges/ following sketches because they can really be a great way to get the creative juices flowing! This week, MelissaKate is the featured store. WOW, what gorgeous stuff the girl's got in her store!

I created a card based on this inspiration from MelissaKate's shop:

I really loved the simplicity of the design and the sentiment split by the focal image! Isn't that clever? ;) I did a little something extra on my card, however. I FINALLY succeeded at sewing on a card! Woot woot! I am SO excited about this, as I have been trying to sew for...ahem....years. That's right. A long time! But I am pretty happy with how it turned out, and my sweet husband even was genuinely wowed by the look of the sewing. Love that!

Anyway, hope you like my card! Be sure to come back tomorrow for more cards and a GIVEAWAY! :)

Stamps: Mix Up of Cuteness (Unity). Paper: SU Kraft, Riding Hood Red. Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black. Accessories: Koh-i-noor Pencils, Glossy Accents, Coconut Pixee Stix Glitter, Pop It! Dots, Sewing Machine!! ;)

This is one of the simple, cute cards we made with the youth at our church on Monday morning! I picked up this (K and Company, I think) line from Michael's and was surprised to find it was on CLEARANCE! Like most things were 75% off! WOW, huh? ;) Love cute stuff on sale. I though the sentiments and bright colors and patterns would be perfect for the teens...and I was right; they loved it! :) The sentiment is a rub-on, and the three strips of paper along the bottom are from the paper pack. I used the retired SU Apple Green grosgrain ribbon for a simple accent, and DONE!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Many S'mores!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DREW!!!! Drew is my husband and the co-owner of Limelight Papercrafts, and today is his 32nd birthday! How blessed I am to have a wonderful, godly husband!

Yesterday, my friend Jenn said on her Facebook page that yesterday was National S'mores Day! REALLY?!?! Isn't that awesome! I don't think I know anyone who doesn't love ooey gooey, chocolaty s'mores! Well, I thought about s'mores from that point on, and this idea popped into my head! A s'mores birthday card for Drew! I basically just used GP White, Creamy Caramel, and Chocolate Chip (oh, how appropriate!) cardstocks, rounded a few edges, pierced a few holes, and sponged a few edges! And done! I used the SU Rough Edges Alpha stamp set for the sentiment. What do you think?

How about a "birthday gift" for YOU?? In addition to the great sales going on this week, all orders placed TODAY ONLY will automatically receive a FREE package of Kaisercraft Pearls or Rhinestones!!

As a bonus, here is Katy's card for Daddy...she picked the papers and stickers! All from the June Bug collection from Basic Grey...

Be Glad of Life

Here's another (bright!!) card that uses this week's Sketch and Product Challenge! (Hope you will play along!) I used the new June Bug paper pad from Basic Grey...love those bold patterns and colors. The spotlight of this card is this sentiment stamp from Unity Stamp Company's Birdie Inspiration. This wonderful stamp set is on sale this week for only $19...that is five dollars off! If you've been thinking about adding it to your repertoire, now is the time! Orange textured ribbon is wrapped around the card, and Pixie Dust Shimmerz is painted all over the floral paper and certain letters in the sentiment. An Orb Prima Pebble finishes off the sketch.

Have a FANTASTIC day! :)

Back to School - Limelight Style!

**Post 1 of 3 Today!!**
It is the sixth of the month, so our fabulous design team has a special challenge to present for you! This month, we created projects with a back-to-school theme. Our team has created gifts for either a student OR a teacher heading back!

My project is a gift set I made for ME! That's right, I'll be heading back to teaching in a couple of weeks here, and I needed a few things for my classroom. I made a candy jar and a pencil holder for my desk! As you can see, the pair features the Cherry Hill paper collection from October Afternoon! Who knew that these would be PERFECT for back to school projects?!? The apples and the dictionary pages are too cool for teachers!

I really enjoyed the ease and coordination of the Cherry Hill Die Cut Shapes. Add a little Diamond Stickles and pop up on dimensionals, and you've got a cute jar! The jar is a used jar of snacks from Target (Archer Farms brand).

Of course no stamper could leave that lid completely plain... I used Riding Hood Red Ink around the edges, bronze rhinestones for accent, and a Cherry Hill Hens in the Cupboard rub-on for the center!

Wanna see what's inside the treat jar?

Mmm....Candy....

For my pencil holder, I used the new Kaisercraft Table Tidy. Isn't it the perfect desktop solution?? A price tag of $4.89 makes them a great choice for gifts and personal penholders. Or craft supply holders...heehee! I covered mine with Cherry Hill patterned paper (Mono Liquid Aqua Glue works well for adhering the paper to the Tidy), inked the edges with an Orchid ColorBox Cat's Eye (only $1 right now at Limelight!!), and tied Black Satin Ribbon around the box. Of course, this gorgeous butterfly makes the project here. I did also ink the letters for my name in the same Orchid ink. The letters are the White Chocolate Piper Chip Alpha letters from Basic Grey!

Be sure to check out ALL of the projects created by our lovely design team! Click the links to their blogs along my right sidebar!
