In the Limelight... A Shipment of Pink Cat Stamps!
I checked my mailbox today and found a large shipment of Pink Cat Studio Stamps! You guys really love your Pink Cat, so I reordered several stamp sets, including Q.T. Hooty, which we were completely sold out of, and Sweet Treats. I also added to our stock the Halloween stamp set and the Autumn stamp set. Can you believe that it is about time to start thinking about Fall and almost time to start thinking about *GULP!* Christmas?!?!? Click HERE to shop Pink Cat at Limelight.
Also in the shipment were the two new stamp sets from Pink Cat, Limitless Limbs and Lily & Billy Accessories. Those will be available for purchase on August 6! Let me tell you...I think that they are BY FAR my two favorite Pink Cat sets so far! And that says a lot! CLICK HERE to enter a contest Melissa from Pink Cat Studio is holding, and you could possibly win FREE NEW STAMPS!!

Just wanted to share a cute card to say hi! I've been buried under busyness, so I'm not able to spend TOO much time on posting, but I do want to say hello. :) I'll be back soon with more on the products coming soon to Limelight!
Isn't the grass SO cute?!?!? I love Clearsnap's Sparkle Fibers. They are so fun and different! I put a strip of Sticky Strip (red super sticky tape) just below the row of houses and pressed some Winter Grass Sparkle Fibers on for some sparkly grass! Because in THIS neighborhood, there are no water restrictions and they can have pretty grass! ;)
Have a happy day!
Stamps: house short mini, hi (jj mix). Paper: GP White, Glorious Green. Ink: Palette Noir. Accessories: Copic Markers, Winter Grass Sparkle Fibers, Prima Flower, Rhinestone.
$5 Odd Bird Planet Coupon Winner!
Random.org chose #8, so that means our lucky winner this time around is TIFFANY!!!
Lava Flow Cupcakes
We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, so Hawaii is very near to our hearts. So it is no surprise that we are so thrilled with the Hawaiian theme for this year's Vacation Bible School! :) On Sunday night, we had a luau kickoff to start the week off right. I made Lava Flow cupcakes, fashioned after a drink offered everywhere in Hawaii (probably other places, too!) which is basically a pina colada topped with strawberry sauce. It is reminiscent of an erupting volcano, which is where the name Lava Flow comes from. I used the recipe for Pina Colada Cupcakes (I substituted pineapple juice for the rum, though!) from Gail Wagman's book Cupcakes Galore. I highly recommend this book! I made a pina colada buttercream frosting by simply creaming together a stick and a half of room-temp unsalted butter and two cups of powdered sugar, then adding a tablespoon each of coconut milk and pineapple juice. Yummy! I then made a quick strawberry sauce of strawberries, water, and a little sugar for the "lava". I found a great way to top the cakes with the sauce - I poked holes straight down the middle of the frosting with a straw to create a cavity for the sauce. I filled the hole with a straw full of sauce, then I let it overflow decoratively!
I hope you'll try these cupcakes, as they are very fun, yummy, and easy!

Limelight Design Team!
Well, here we are... It is the moment you've all been waiting for! The big design team announcement! It was such a tough decision! The tragedy was that we really could only offer four positions at this time, but we're really hoping that we can add a couple more next time around. We were shocked that so many people applied, and we were even more amazed at the level of talent! If you did not make it this round, I encourage you to hang in there! Try again next time!
I am pleased to introduce the first Limelight Papercrafts Design Team! Please give them a friendly welcome, and be sure to check out their great blogs!!
Becky Carafa
I have been stamping for 8 years, but only seriously for the last two when I quit my job to stay home with our son. My husband and I have been married almost 7 years and we have a 2-year old son. I am so excited to be on this team!

Brandi Parshley
Hi! I'm so glad to be a part of the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team! I have loved Limelight Papercrafts since the first time I clicked the link in Mandy's signature over on Splitcoast Stampers! It was love at first click! Scrapbooking is my first love and stamping is my favorite distraction from my everyday life as a stay-at-home mom. I started scrapbooking three years ago, but never really got serious about it. A few months ago, I decided I really wanted to "do" something with my stamping and scrapbooking and things have really grown from there! Each step of the way I've been thrilled to meet some awesome stampers and Mandy from Limelight Papercrafts is one of them! I can't wait to share my work with everyone!

I am currently a SAHW. I've been married to my amazing DH for 10 years. And I have a rather moody cat. I love to stamp and want to share my creations with you! Enjoy!

Katie Renz
Hi, my name is Katie Renz and I live in Washington state with my husband and
3 sons. My oldest is 8 1/2 and my youngest are 2 1/2 (twin boys). All
three of them definitely keep me on my toes. I have been scrapbooking and
making papercrafts for the past 7 years or so, but I didn't get "passionate"
or is it "obsessive" about it until about a year and half ago.

Limelight Papercrafts Blinkie!
I've had a couple of people ask me for a Limelight "blinkie" for their blog sidebars, so I asked my wonderful graphic designer friend Emma to help me out! She came up with a really cute little logo (as well as a similar, cute one for the design team!), and I'd like to offer that to you. EDITED TO ADD: I added a larger size blinkie that Emma made up for me as well. You can choose to use either image you like! (Some people may not like a larger image...)
1. Right-click on the image, and save it to your computer.
2. If you have Blogger, click on Customize and then Add a Page Element. You will want to add a picture.
3. Upload the blinkie, and where it asks for a link, you can type in http://limelightpapercrafts.com. That will allow people to click your blinkie and be taken directly to the store.
4. Click Save...and you're done!
5. Thank you for helping me share Limelight with everyone!

Unity Stamp Company & Pink Paislee in the Limelight!
That's right! Limelight Papercrafts will be carrying Unity Stamp Co. stamps.... THE Unity Stamp Company! To start out with, we'll be carrying only the unmounted stamps. This will help the transition to the handles and kits (which use the handles). I had the pleasure of trying out Unity Stamps at CHA, and I fell in love!! If you haven't gotten your hands on these wonderful stamps, you are in for a treat! These stamps pictured are only a couple of the many we'll be getting in, but they are two of my personal favorites! The tree set is called Tiny Trinity, and the quote (which is big enough for a whole card!) is called Be The Change. Get this: Tiny Trinity will retail for only $7.00!! And the singles, like Be The Change? A mere $4.00!!! We are so pleased to welcome Unity Stamp Company to the Limelight lineup!
Pink Paislee is a pretty new company with some AWESOME products out there! They have super-adorable papers, rub-ons, stickers, clear stamps, and glitters! The owners are so nice and wonderful to work with, too! (Always a bonus!) Limelight will be carrying the Vintage Moon paper packs, Trick or Treat Stamp Set, Holly Doodle Alphabet Stickers in Chocolate and Green Lace, and the entire line of Paislee Pixee Stix glitters! I am so excited about this great glitters! They are little straws filled with glitter (these should make it so easy to sprinkle on a little glitter to your projects). They come in fifteen colors and will retail for only $1.99! You can't beat that! No sir, you can't beat that with a STICK! (Right, Dad?)
I'm leaving you with that today. Our first night of Vacation Bible School was tonight (I am teaching the middle school class with my husband), and I am BEAT. We did have a total of 27 youth, however! How awesome is that?!? I will be back in the morning with a post introducing you to our first-ever Limelight Papercrafts Design Team!
Oh, and you are not going to want to miss the sale this week! 10% off all Stampendous! and Pink Cat Studio stamps! Bargain hunters' tip: If you want to beat the system, I won't take the GOLIME code out of the system until tomorrow morning, and the new sale is already active... You could receive 10% off the aforementioned stamps, plus an additional 10% off your entire order... But you don't have long.... Shhh... You didn't hear that from me! ;)

DT Update and a Winner!
Hi there! Happy Friday to all! I am AMAZED at all of the talent we've seen in our design team search! Let me just tell you that it is SO HARD to choose because all of the applicants are so good! I know you hear people say that and it sounds like they're just saying it to be nice, but it is SO TRUE!! We are reviewing each application carefully and even praying for God's guidance in choosing the right team! The new design team will be announced this coming Monday, July 28, right here on the blog!
I suppose you are wondering about the Limelight Loot, too. ;) I used random.org to choose a winner, and the winner is lucky number 15!

Me, me, me! I'm jumping up and down waving my hand in the air!! I "need" more "stuff"!! LOL! I'm lonely since my goodies are all packed away in Ohio and I'm still in D.C. (on my way to NC in a few hours though)! Love what you did with it too! Cute!!!
I'll likely be back later to post more of the great things coming to the store soon! But my top priority through the weekend is to choose our design team! :) Hope you enjoy the simple card at the top! Gotta love black and white with a little color. So clean and cute!
Stamps: single scoop, happy birthday (OBP). Paper: GP White. Ink: Palette Noir. Accessories: Black Satin Ribbon, Copic Markers.

Coming Soon to limelightpapercrafts.com!
Wow, there's a lot going on here on the Limelight blog! First, today is the last day to send in your design team applications! Second, I have Limelight Loot posted! I'll be drawing a winner at random tomorrow. Third, I have a sneak peek and justjohanna's Odd Bird Planet giveaway being offered! I'll choose that winner (again, at random) on July 30. Now I'm going to add some more information! Something else to build the excitement... Hey, that's how we like it around here! Lots of fun and excitement! ;)
I would like to share with you what you can expect in the store in coming months. As you know, I had the privilege of attending CHA in Chicago last weekend. I had the best time meeting new and old friends, making great products, sneaking peeks at the newest products, and even ordering those products to share with YOU! Think of me as your personal shopper. ;) Yeah...I like the sound of that. But I digress... I want to lay out a little of what you can expect to be in the store soon! Some of the products are shipping this week, and some will not be released until September or even October! (Oh, the horror! Having to wait until OCTOBER!!) There is so much info to be shared that I'll only tell you about a few of the items to look for at Limelight. Over the next few days, I'll cover it all!
Ranger - I ordered ALL of the new Stickles colors! There are 12 new colors in the Distress Stickles line and 6 new colors in the Glitz Stickles line! I was a little skeptical at first, but these babies deliver! The Distress Stickles have a more subdued hue to them, but they have a sandy-beach type sparkle and amazing texture. The Glitz Stickles are just fun and super-sparkly! It'll be September when these babies hit the proverbial store shelves. ;)
Glitz - What I fell in love with from Glitz was their Digital Create A Card CD and their Digital Collection for scrappers. In a world where digital scrapping is becoming more and more popular, it is very cool that you can have the ENTIRE line of Glitz's scrapbook papers (not to mention embellishments, templates, etc.) on the CD! And you can change the colors to meet your needs, too! I thought the card making CD would be great, too, for similar reasons. What a great way to have SUPER-FAST custom cards that you can still embellish with rhinestones, glitter, pearls, etc.! I also love the Roller Doodles! Very adorable stamp patterns to use on backgrounds, scrapbook pages, creating custom DP, etc. I also ordered their Glitzers Bling stickers... Pink alphabet stickers with little rhinestones already in them. Need I say more? These products should be here soon.
Core'dinations - This was one of our show favorites! This card stock company has two lines of coated card stock! Black Magic has a colored core coated in black. You can tear or sand this paper to reveal the color underneath. It gives the COOLEST effect! I posted a candy bar wrapper that I made at the Core'dinations booth at CHA showing the sanding technique, which is my favorite way to manipulate this awesome paper. Click here to see the twenty colors of Black Magic 12x12 paper I ordered. Just try and tell me that the orange, yellow, and purple are not PERFECT for Halloween layouts and treats and cards!! As awesome as the Black Magic is, I think my personal favorite was their Chocolate Box collection. Same basic idea... colored core, but with CHOCOLATE BROWN coating! Wowzers! They had me at "chocolate". Again, the twenty colors shown if you click the link are the twenty colors we'll be carrying in the store. :) The hard thing is that you will have to wait a little bit for these papers. Black Magic will ship out to me in September, but it'll be October before they send out Chocolate Box.
Ta-Da Creative Studios - Yep. This is the one I talked about a bazillion times. We just fell in love with them! Everything about this company... their trendy and cool papers...the names of the lines...their awesome little stamps... and especially the two ladies who own the company all just ROCK. This is something that you'll just want to be a part of! Click on the link to their website. You'll see what I mean. :) We ordered the Twinkly Tidings collection in Chilly Willy and Razzle Dazzle as well as the matching Dangling Dazzlers and Snazzy Spruce stamps. We also ordered the Tea Hee Hee collection in Sprinkles and Sprinkles & Crinkles and the matching stamps in Tea Hee Scream, Tea Hee Cup, and Tea Hee Cupcake. We third collection we ordered is Curly Q. I think I ordered Twirls & Dots and Curls & Swirls. I'm not sure! Possibly most awesome from this company (POSSIBLY...) are the Fiddle Dee Frames. These are alterable cards (see outlines below) that you can turn into an elaborate card or even a mini scrapbook! They come eight to a package for $8.00! Not so bad, right? These should be arriving soon at Limelight.
There are so many more companies I haven't talked about... Stampendous, Unity Stamps (that's right... THE Unity Stamps!!), Little Yellow Bicycle, Pink Paislee, Piggy Tales.... Do you see why I am "limiting myself" to only these companies tonight? Yikes! If you are still reading this, as a matter of fact, you deserve an award. Or a medal of some sort. Have a good night dreaming of all the wonderful paper crafting items coming soon to Limelight!

Limelight Loot!!
It still counts! I said I'd post the Limelight Loot today, even if it IS late! :)
Up for grabs this time around is a brand new issue of Paper Crafts magazine, a set of rub-ons from The Paper Element, and a make-and-take from the JustRite Stampers booth at CHA (it makes a really cute box, seen below. What? That isn't enough for you? Then we'll just have to throw in a Basic Grey Two Scoops 6x6 Paper Pad, too! :) Just leave a comment on this post to be entered in the random drawing! I'll choose a lucky winner this Friday, July 25! :)
This second picture is the assembled box. Please note that you will need to use your personal collection of stamps for the stamped image! ;)
I really like this card I made. I used the lime-ade image by justjohanna's Odd Bird Planet, which I love, and some yellow Kaisercraft rhinestones around the image. It is hard to tell in the picture, but the main image is popped up off of a slightly larger black circle, so it actually pops out of the hole in the front of the card! And I just got this "just for you" sentiment, also by justjohanna, and I am IN LOVE! I keep using it on everything because I love the font so much! It seems to go with everything. Fun, elegant, you name it!
Stamps: lime-ade, just for you (OBP). Ink: Palette Noir. Paper: Certainly Celery, GP White, Basic Black. Accessories: Crystal Glitter, Yellow Kaisercraft Rhinestones, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Watercolor Wonder Crayons.
Please do not forget about our design team call! Click to find out more! All applications are due this Thursday, July 24!

CHA Day Two!
Well, you said you wanted more pictures... You got it! Day Two at CHA was just as excited as Day One! We did several great make and takes, got some goodies, met some celebs :), and even placed a few orders so that we can share the fabulousness with YOU! This first picture is me and Katy with none other than Taylor Van Bruggen!! Yeah, I am totally loving all the name-dropping. We made a cute cupcake card with her at the JustRite booth! The girl is super-sweet and just beautiful! And I had heard she was tall, but do you see how much she had to bend down to take a picture with me?!? Yikes! I am only 5'1", though... ;)
How cute are all of these little JustRite projects? They had the best displays!
Do you see those cute new Stampendous stamps? Look at all the cute Changito Christmas stamps! Yay!
October Afternoon has an adorable monster line out! :) It made us smile!
How AWESOME is this chipboard tree from Kaisercraft?!? They have the best alterable albums and projects! This is the Days Til Christmas countdown tree. Yes, these will DEFINITELY be in the store!
This is the Fairy Tale Castle album, also by Kaisercraft. Perfect for any little princess!!
See all that bling? Kaisercraft Rhinestones!
Saturday's Favorites:
- Kaisercraft! (Duh...) We loved the albums, especially the Christmas stuff. They have ornament albums and star albums!
- Our make and take from Stampendous. We made a great little mini chipboard and decorated it with Halloween spider stickers, glittery embossing powder, and the NEW Halloween stamps! I will post the details and a picture later.
- Unity Stamps! These images are AWESOME! LOVE THEM! And they have so many affordable images... Look for them in the store soon. ;)
- Ta-Da! Okay, we already mentioned this company. But we REALLY like them and all they are about!
- Ta-Da! scrapbooking papers and stamps
- Glitz digital scrapbooking and card making CD-Roms, stickers, and Roller Doodles
- Little Yellow Bicycle's Christmas Magic line
- Kaisercraft albums, papers, and Droplets

CHA Day One
Wow! What sensory overload! I'm telling you, I tried to prepare myself for something huge, but this surpassed my expectations! There are SO MANY great products out there, and we are going to be so thrilled to add them to the store! Let's start with some pictures, and then I will run down some of our favorites so far.
Yeah, I definitely got to meet Lisa Johnson! I did her make and take - we stamped and decorated tote bags with the Puffy Velvet pens. Tres cool. Katy was trying to steal Lisa's name badge in this picture. Lisa really liked Katy... She came up behind us at the Splitcoast Cupcake Reception and said, "Now can I hold the baby?!?" :) Katy happily obliged.
These are a couple of the ladies at the Unity Stamps booth. They were wearing tiaras and doing Diva Luggage Tag make and takes! Very fun! And these stamps are cooler than I imagined. Very cute images, and the impressions are outstanding. And who doesn't love a tiara? ;)
Okay, the picture is terrible. I'm having lots of lighting issues, but bear with me! This was the Coredinations make and take using their new Chocolate Box paper. It ROCKS! WE ARE IN LOVE! It's colored card stock coated in brown. You can sand or tear it, and you have your color "peeking" through the brown!
BasicGrey is coming out with five new lines in the next couple of months. This uses one of the lines...I can't remember the name right now! Sorry!
This is Ta-Da Scrapbooking. AWESOME papers, AWESOME names (things like Tea Hee and Boom Chicka Bloom...), and AWESOME ladies! Everything about this little place just screams FUN!
Okay, a quick list of our favorites du jour, then we are off to track down breakfast and head back over for Day Two!

- Coredinations Chocolate Box Papers!
- Glitz Digital Scrapbooking and Card Making CD-Roms... Very trendy and chic, and a GREAT value!
- Little Yellow Bicycle Papers and Embellishments... They have flocked, glittered, and foiled card stock!
- Piggy Tales... They have super-cute papers that are nursery-rhyme themed, and my favorites by Piggy Tales were the slider frames and spring pop-ups!

Hello from CHA! :)
Well, here we are! Jaime, Katy, and I arrived in Rosemont, IL yesterday afternoon! Katy did SO SO well on the flight! I was so super-proud of her. She did WAY better than I even hoped! She's such a sweet, happy girl... Our room is beautiful and comfy! Do you see that little organza bag by my pillow? It contains earplugs (we found humor in the fact that they included earplugs in our hotel room...) and a lavender linen spray. Very cool.
The only problem we have had is that there really is not much to eat in walking distance of the hotel, which is right across from the convention center . We walked a mile away for a feast at McDonalds...yogurt parfaits and apple dippers. See the demolished fare?
We are headed out to the convention center in a few minutes. When we went to print our badges, I saw none other than Nichole Heady at the front entrance area!!! I hope to do much more name-dropping later on... ;)

Merci Again!
I am really liking this set! It's sad that it has taken me this long to really play with it! :( I used my Pebbles, Inc. Pearlescent Shimmers Chalks to color the image. These chalks are so shimmery and pretty! They really add a little oomph! I did go over the stem in a Copic marker, too. I stamped the Print Pattern background stamp in Pistachio Colorbox Cat's Eye Pigment ink for a fun background! It's actually very subtle IRL, but very pretty!
I am leaving in the morning for CHA. I will try to update the blog with pictures while I'm there! I will certainly have a few by the time I get back if I can't get it done there. On that subject, all orders placed tomorrow through Sunday will ship on Monday, July 21! Anything ordered today will ship today! There are lots of items on sale, so don't miss out!
Wow! We are over 5,000 hits! I'll have to get back on here later on today to post some LIMELIGHT LOOT! Be on the lookout!
Stamps: Merci, Print Pattern. Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black, Pistachio Colorbox Pigment Cat's Eye. Paper: Basic Black, White, WNP Poppy, WNP Chartreuse. Accessories: Yellow Green Copic Marker, Shimmers Pearlescent Chalk, Black Satin Ribbon.

Merci!
I love this Merci stamp set by Stampin' Up! Thanks to my good friend Jill for sharing it with me! :) I made the main image for this simple thank-you card simply using some black ink and pearlescent chalks. That's it! Easy-peasy! The beautiful card stock I used is Waste Not Paper recycled card stock in Chartreuse! It's a bright color, but it can easily be muted to coordinate with more rich tones, as in this card.
I hope you are all having a great day! I'm feeling much better; thanks to all of you who wished me well! :) We actually just ran out to Target for a couple of things for trips this week... Drew is taking our youth to camp in Florida this Thursday (Oh, how we suffer for the Lord... haha!). I am leaving that same day for CHA in Chicago!!! Woohooo! I cannot wait! My daughter, Katy, will be making her debut appearance along with me. I am bringing one of my best friends along to help, too! (Thanks, Jaime!! You are the best!) If you will be attending CHA, let me know! I'd love to meet you! I have a feeling that I'll be easy to recognize, bringing Katy and all! Also, if you have any tips, let me know those, too! Or even if you know anything fun to do or any good places to eat in Chicago near the convention center...
But I digress... We got a prize for each of the kids at Target tonight. Drew chose the movie Annie for Cameron; he loves anything with music in it, so a musical will likely be a good choice. :) I found the CUTEST book for Katy! It's called Princess Baby! It SO fits her little personality! Trust me, if you have a little baby girl, you NEED this book!
Well, have a great night! I'm going down to cook dinner. It's getting late, so I'd better get going! Don't forget that all Prima is on sale at Limelight Papercrafts through tomorrow only! That means even those great PRIMA KITS are 15% off!! I also added several new justjohanna stamps into the system today as well, and I updated each justjohanna stamp to show you the size of the wood blocks. I think it's important to know exactly what size the image will be before you purchase it!
Stamps: Merci. Paper: WNP Chartreuse, WNP White, Basic Black. Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black. Accessories: Pebbles, Inc. Shimmers Pearlescent Chalk, Black Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Black Grosgrain Ribbon.
