Easter Baskets!

Be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom for a special fun announcement!

Today is the 6th of the month, and you know what that means! The Limelight Papercrafts Design Team is bringing you a very special project! :) This Month we are bringing you our Easter basket creations, and we are certain you will find each project beautiful and inspirational! Believe it or not, Easter is only one month away, so it is time to start planning and creating your projects!

I had my Easter basket idea in my head for quite a while! I feel like it was simple to create and it turned out how I envisioned it! Love when that happens! All I did was take a 6 1/2" x 12" piece of patterned paper (double-sided makes it more fun!) and make 3" long cuts at every inch along the 12" side. I attached the two end pieces together with Sticky Strip tape to form the round basket. It'll look like a paper lantern. To make the base (bottom) of the basket, trace the circle on the bottom of the basket on a piece of the same patterned paper, then cut out that circle a little larger around the edges. You'll fold along the extra (up to your actual circle size) to have something to glue into the basket to hold the base on. I use Tombow Mono Adhesive, and it's sturdy enough for a basket base!! I glued a 1" x 12" strip of patterned paper to the inside of the basket to serve as the handle, then I curled out the cut strips at the top of the basket. Then, I decorated with stickers, tulle, and rhinestones! Cute, huh? ;)

Paper: Easter Time Flowers/Pink Dot. Accessories: Easter Time Words Stickers, Deep Yellow Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Splash Tulle, Sticky Strip Tape, Tombow Mono/Multi, Easter Grass/Crinkle Paper.

I made a second basket using some old Stampin' Up! designer paper for a friend, so I thought I'd share that one with you as well:

Now some of you MAY be saying to yourself, "Hey! What's in those eggs? I want to see what's in those eggs!!" Well, I don't blame you, my friends. Because what is in these eggs is for YOU! Take a peek:

All sorts of stamping and scrapping goodies in plastic Easter eggs just for YOU! There could be Cat's Eye inkpads, buttons, Prima flowers, a yard or two of ribbon, Dew Drops (coming VERY soon to the store!), stamps (yes, STAMPS!), stickers, and more in your egg! There are even some eggs with slips of paper inside that will have a bigger prize inside! Prizes like full lines (usually six sheets) of patterned paper, your choice of a few embellishments like pearls or Fun Flocks, and more! All you have to do is place any size order with Limelight Papercrafts! Your egg will come with your order! :) Here are the official details:

With each and every order (regardless of amount) through Easter Sunday, Limelight will be sending out a plastic Easter egg filled with goodies! They could be filled with ribbon, stickers, Cat’s Eye ink pads, small stamps, buttons, Dew Drops, Shimmerz, and more! A few will have some “big prizes” written on slips of paper! There will be no rhyme or reason to which egg goes in an order. We’ll keep it as random as humanly possible!

Now GO. Be sure to check out EACH of the lovely ladies' blogs on our design team! They have some AMAZING Easter baskets to share with you! Look to the right in my sidebar for the links!!

Droplets Keep Fallin' On My Head...

I needed a quick birthday card recently, and I pulled out my Kaisercraft Droplets! If you aren't familiar with these, they are little clear soft plastic circles that you stick onto your creations! They come in several different colors and they are SO easy to use. And the best part? The price! Droplets will only set you back $1.45 for a package of 54!

I arranged these Droplets in a wiggly row, and I stamped two hearts from the SU! hostess set Goody-Goody Gumdrops underneath two of the Droplets. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, and VOILA! All done! I've been needing LOTS of birthday cards here lately, so this is a wonderful quick option!

Hope you have a very happy day! Be sure to check in this Thursday, March 5, for our Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge! Also tune in Friday here and on ALL of the DT members' blogs for our product parade. This month, we are bringing you EASTER BASKETS! And I just *LOVE* Easter. ;)

Happy Birthday, Mousekadoer!

My wonderful friend Lorie has two beautiful, sweet daughters. Her younger daughter Bethany turned two last week, and we attended the party over the weekend! HOW MUCH FUN! The theme was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so my kids were on Cloud Nine! Especially Katy! (Even though we don't have cable, the kids LOVE Mickey things and Mickey songs!) I made this card for Bethany to fit the theme. I cut the circles using my Coluzzle, and I studded the edges with silver rhinestones to really make it POP!! I put a little yellow textured ribbon behind it to keep with the color scheme, and I stamped a MOUSEY sentiment at the bottom. :) I used three black rhinestones to make a Mickey Mouse "brad" because.... well, the sentiment was not centered! ACK! Quick fix.

I wish the picture was better but it was SUCH a cloudy, rainy day, and I could not get a good picture using my camera (and my lack of photo skills were NOT helping!). But I love the way the card came out, and when Bethany opened the card, she said, "Oh, Toodles!!" Mission: accomplished. ;)
