Eskimo Kisses Votive

I'm back with another quick holiday gift item for you! I just LOVE these Eskimo Kisses rub-on books from Basic Grey! I used them here to dress up a plain clear class votive candle holder. I simply positioned a few, rubbed them on, and done! This was a birthday gift for my friend Elizabeth, but this could be used for ANYONE this Christmas and beyond!

Hmm....brave the stores today for Black Friday, or stay home and make a few of these beauties? ;) Hee hee!

Sketch 35: Patterned Paper

Happy Thursday, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING, friends! :) I am thankful today for so many things... My wonderful husband and two beautiful children, my God and Savior, and good friends...and that includes YOU! I am thankful for each of my "online" friends. 'Cuz we all know we're real friends, too. ;)

Welcome to not only another Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge, but also another CELEBRITY sketch! Today's sketch is brought to us by none other than the super-sweet and super-talented DAWN MCVEY! If anyone is not familiar with Dawn, you MUST check her out! Her creations are always breathtakingly perfect, and she is such a sweet, happy, positive person.

Here's Dawn's sketch, and the original card that inspired it:

Dawn created TWO MORE cards using the Nook and Pantry line from Basic Grey for this challenge... Check for details on HER BLOG!

And now for a few details about my card! I wanted to use some of my favorite Papertrey Ink products since Dawn is one of the design team members for PTI! I started with an Aqua Mist base and layered on Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses papers. The rub-ons are both from the same Eskimo Kisses line. I used some Moss Silk Ribbon (LOVE this stuff!) and added interest with an Aqua Mist button and some linen thread.

Now it is your turn! I cannot wait, as always, to see what you come up with!

The Deets:
**Use the sketch above and try to incorporate your favorite PATTERNED PAPER!!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC035.

**Post a comment with a link to your card right here on the challenge post
by Sunday, November 29, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~ One lucky winner will receive a 6x6 Basic Grey Wisteria Paper Pad!

Button Rings

Need a quick, inexpensive, SUPER-ADORABLE gift for some ladies (or girls!) this Christmas? How about some button rings? This is one of the projects I created for a Kids' Christmas Elves' Workshop this season. The kids will be invited to come make these fabulous rings (amongst many other things) to give to a friend or family member this Christmas. The best thing about it? Nope, not that it is cheap (but it is!)... I would TOTALLY wear this! As a matter of fact, I have... many times! :) They are so fun and trendy!

I just love Etsy, where I bought these fantastic rings. I simply used some E-6000 and glued on two PTI buttons, and voila! Done!

If you try these, I'd LOVE to see!! Please share! :)

Halloween... at Thanksgiving

Yeah, so I never got around to posting some pictures from Halloween! I decided to now because I used a STAMPING product for part of my "fairy" (-ish...) costume!

Notice the HAIR... I definitely sprayed my hair with Shimmerz Spritz! Like a TON of it! (Baby's Breath, if you really wanna know!) Luckily, it washed out just fine and made me VERY sparkly! LOL!

And how about some cute little garden gnomes? *wink*

How 'bout a few more pics of Cameron and Katy? Just cuz it's been a while... And cuz they are so cute! ;)

Here they are at their buddy Beckett's birthday party. ;)

Katy loves playing with her friend Lelia. :)

Cameron and his blue tongue!

Oh, and the curls... ;)

Joy To the World

I am really trying to build a stash of cute, simple Christmas cards to actually be SENT OUT this year!! :) Anyone else in the same boat?

This card was created using SU's Delightful Decorations.... and get this... I made four of these cards, cut out all of the ornaments oh-so-carefully, and THEN remembered that I OWN the ORNAMENT PUNCH that goes along with this set! Duh! Silly me... Anyway, this only took a few minutes per card even WITH all of the cutting. ;) I used one of the more traditional pieces of Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper (back in stock TOMORROW!), mounted on SU Riding Hood Red. I "hung" the two red ornaments using silver cord, then added a little bling with Silver Rhinestones. I adhered a strip of Riding Hood Red along the bottom of the card, stamped with this sentiment from PTI's Winter Swirls stamp set.

Tell me your plan for getting your Christmas cards done and SENT this year, and you could win this Unity Dream Tree stamp:

I will draw a winner tomorrow night after 8PM and post the winner here on the blog sometime after that! Just wanna share some love as we prepare for the holidays!

Sketch 34 WINNER!!

Congrats to the lovely Christi, who wins the chipboard product of her CHOICE from Limelight Papercrafts! Christi, e-mail me with your address and choice of product, and I'll get that right on out to you! Here is Christi's beautiful card:

And, as always, here are a few of my favorites this week!

Cammy (She used a CEREAL BOX to make her chipboard tree!!!):

Maggie (LOVE those snowflakes layered with the snowman!):

Charlene (love the chipboard letters in the four squares' position!):

Katy (Such a calm, PEACEful card, as the sentiment suggests!):

Be sure to tune in on Thanksgiving Day after eating some turkey and pumpkin pie for our NEXT Sketch and Product Challenge! We are featuring another fabulous celebrity... Dawn McVey! :)

Limelight Sketch 34: Chipboard!

Happy Thursday, friends! Are you ready to get sketchy with the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team? Including it's two NEWEST members, Lisa and Christi??? ;) Good! Let's get started then!

I used basic PTI white cardstock for my card base. I really wanted to keep this card simple and let the chipboard star really SHINE (haha....). I layered on four patterns from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Mini Deck (back in stock at LAST!). I don't know if you can see it, but I drew on little white x's between the scraps to add a little somethin'... The chipboard star is actually from the Cosmo Cricket Buck Naked Ornaments set. (I feel like giggling even typing that name...) I covered the star is sparkly Pink Frost Sparkle Fibers. Isn't it pretty?!?!? The sentiment, stamped in Pink Passion, is from PTI Winter Swirls.

Hope you will click on each of our DT members' blogs (see my right sidebar) for inspiration, and then join us by creating a card!

The Deets:
**Use the sketch above and try to incorporate your favorite CHIPBOARD!!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC034.

**Post a comment with a link to your card right here on the challenge post
by Sunday, November 15, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~ One lucky winner will receive any one chipboard item in the Limelight Papercrafts store! Winner's choice!

Introducing 2 New Design Team Members!!

After careful review, we have chosen two PHENOMENAL designers to join our fantastic team! They have agreed to join us, and I'm so thrilled to introduce them to you now!

Christi Snow
I am a stay-at-home mom to my adorable 2 year old daughter, Kat, and energetic 14 year old son, Jacob. My DH of 18 years is Ben and he drags us around the world every couple of years with his active duty job in the Air Force which currently has us stationed in Illinois.I have been crafting in one manner or other all of my life, but that became a papercrafting passion 15 years ago when I discovered stamping and scrapbooking. I love all things associated with these crafts and am willing to try any technique at least once. I love the challenge of trying new things and stretching my creativity while creating something new and beautiful. Most days you will find me sitting in front of piles of paper and stamps, but my other loves are reading and coffee so I can often be found wandering the aisles of my local Barnes & Noble. My blog can be found at http://alteredambitions.blogspot.com/

Lisa Arana
I'm an Arizona Native married to a wonderful man. We have two adorable rescue boxer mix dogs. I have always been obsessed with pens and paper from a very young age. I can't refuse a cool new pen even though I probably have thousands laying around. I transferred that obsession into card making quite a few years ago. Now I collect paper, stamps and embellishments as well! I am excited and honored to join the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team.
Lisa's blog can be viewed at http://dahlhousedesigns.wordpress.com/

Lisa and Christi, WELCOME! We are blessed to have you! :) Give these ladies a warm welcome!

Happy Trees

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week! I wanted to share a couple of cute cards I made this week. I like to get a lot done while I am making cards, but I do admit to having a bit of paper crafting ADD! I can't stay with the same design for too long. I love for each card I create to be individualized. A good compromise for me is to use the same layout and stamps, but change up the patterned paper/colors and card orientation (vertical or horizontal).

As you can see, I made some cards using the new Unity November store kit, Believe in Fairytales. I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this set! Quite versatile. ;) I knew right away I wanted to paper-piece these trees! I used basically the same layout and the same embellishments (PTI buttons and linen thread), but changed the orientation (horizontal to vertical) and the patterned papers. For the pink card, I used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. Yep, it's a Christmas line. On a non-Christmas card! Hee hee! For the green and yellow card, I used the Crate Paper Lemongrass - Lime paper. Love how those earthy papers can feel so BRIGHT and happy!

Hope you enjoyed these cards! They were lots of fun to make! See you soon for a special DT announcement! And see you tomorrow for the Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge!! :)

Believe With All Your Heart!

*Update: I am still contacting designers, and I will post the new design team members very soon!!*

Good morning! Just a quick card to share with you this morning! We are on the way out to a birthday party!

This card showcases a few NEW products! :) This fantastic snowman image (love the different patterns on each part!) is from the new November Unity Store Kit, Believe in Fairytales. The gorgeous silk ribbon is a
color new to our store, Taupe. I layered on a SU felt flurry with a rhinestone center to complete the card.

I also wanted to show you this card with our May Arts twill ribbon in Teal! The teal ribbon matches perfectly with the SU In Color Bermuda Bay! I do apologize for the awful lighting in this picture!

On another note, we are still waiting to hear back from last week's Sketch winner, Kathryn B! We will give Kathryn until tomorrow morning to respond (hope she will!), and then we will need to choose a new winner.

Henry Anderson Memorial Stamp

This week has been a very sad one as a fellow stamper, blogger, and friend Sarah Anderson's 3 year old son Henry passed away. Little Henry was unable to overcome a virus that made him ill last week.

Lorie Ames has organized a way to donate for a memorial for Henry. Henryloved his local zoo and visited it almost every day in the summer. As a memorial, trees will be planted there in his honor. Melissa at Pink Cat Studio has created a digital stamp to help raise funds for a tree for Henry. All proceeds from the sale of the digi stamp, minus Paypal costs, will go towards the tree. If you would like to donate towards the tree, please visit this webpage to purchase the digi stamp:
http://www.pinkcatstudio.com/Digital/DigiStamps/Animals/Zoo/GiraffeAndMonkey.htm

Please click on our DT blog members' links to see a couple of cards created with this adorable stamp.

Another way to donate to the memorial is to print out this form and mail in your donation directly:
http://www.ci.oshkosh.wi.us/Parks/PDF/MemorialTreePamphlet.pdf

Please write on the form that the donation is for Sarah Anderson's son Henry. Once all of the money is collected, a tree and location will be selected. If you have questions about the form please contact our former Limelight DT member Lorie Ames. Lorie will be in contact with Sarah along this memorial journey to ensure that her wishes are followed. To contact Lorie, please visit her blog at
http://www.live-love-laugh-create.blogspot.com/

If you don't know Sarah and would like to learn more about her, please visit her blog: http://scrampinmama.blogspot.com/

Thank you for your help to raise money for a tree in memory of sweet Henry.
