Sketch 67 WINNER! (And a Fun Surprise!)

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. It is supposed to be 73 degrees here in Charlotte today, so I know I am happy about the warmer weather! :)

Congratulations to Rachel Bogner, our winner of the Webster's Pages Vellum and Die Cut Kit! Rachel, send me your address, and I'll get this right out to you in tomorrow's mail (today is a postal holiday). Here is Rachel's fabulous card (with a gorgeous flower!!)

I have a fun surprise for you this week! We want to help get you ready for our next Sketch and Product Challenge, which will occur on Thursday, March 3. The above clip is a sneak peek of the March 3 sketch, and as you can see, butterflies are featured! (Of course, you don't HAVE to use butterflies!!) Anyone who places an order at Limelight Papercrafts now through this Friday will receive an assortment of 4-5 die cut butterflies in varying textures and patterns (could be patterned paper, felt, fabric, etc!). Any order will qualify, and there are LOTS of great things left in our store. We had a very large inventory to start with, and now that everything is on sale with our closing, take a peek at all the crafty deals you can find! (Hint: the product focus is on pearls...you may want to pick up a pack!)

We had so many fabulous submissions this week, but here are a few that caught my eye! Hope you enjoy viewing them...be sure to leave some love on their blogs if so! :)

Retro Cupcake

I just love cupcakes. Who doesn't, right?!? ;) My sweet friend turned 31 yesterday, and I made this cute cupcake birthday card for her using PTI's Cupcake Shape Up die. So simple and SO cute! This is kind of a funky, retro-looking cupcake, but I think it's fun! The dotty circles kind of remind me of sprinkles... in a funky kind of way! A birthday sentiment is stamped on the inside...so sorry, but I forgot to snap a photo! Hope you like this simple card. HAPPY FRIDAY, FRIENDS!!

Stamps: Dot Spot
Paper: Simply Chartreuse, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU), Fresh Snow (PTI)
Accessories: Raspberry Fizz Twill Ribbon, Hot Pink Rhinestones, White Heart Pins (Little Yellow Bicycle), Cupcake Die.

SKETCH 67: STRING!

Hi, everyone! Welcome to another Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge! Hope you're ready for a FUN sketch to play along with! We are using any kind of STRING with this week's sketch, so be sure to pull out your favorite string, twine, etc. from your stash as you create!

We have something fun planned this week for the prize... Of course you all know of super-talented DT member Lynn Miller, right??? (If not...*gasp!*....run, don't walk to check out her blog!) Our prize for the week is one of her faves... The Webster's Pages Vellum and Die Cut Kit! (Hint: If you'd like to purchase this kit...there is only ONE left for sale in the store... so win it here, or buy it FAST!)

I created this uber-sweet cotton candy pink card with a certain little girl in mind. Nope, not my little Katy (although those of you who know her know that she is a little ball of pinkaliciousness in herself!). We are attending my cousin's sweet little girl's first birthday party this weekend, and I thought this would be the perfect card. :) Don't ya think? My twine was kept minimal because I just LOVE the look of twine tied into a bow on a button! Eek!

I incorporated this week's Make It Monday challenge from PTI as well. The challenge was to use a strip of vellum with the sentiment on it, and this sketch was just asking for it! If you are planning on making a card for this PTI challenge, maybe try our sketch, too? ;)

Stamps: Make a Wish
Paper: Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Black, Vellum
Ink: Pink Passion (SU), True Black, Summer Sunrise, Fresh Snow (PTI)
Accessories: Black Button, Pink Sorbet Twine (The Twinery)

THE DETAILS:

V-Day Hearts

Can you believe tomorrow is Valentine's Day? It's starting to really feel like time is FLYING to me. Probably has something to do with being 31 weeks pregnant, huh? Oh, and not having done anything to prepare yet. ;) It really IS different having your THIRD child, isn't it? I figure we have a Pack and Play for him to sleep in, we can get diapers on the way home from the hospital, and we're set. :) He does have a name, too! So not too bad?

Here is a quick Valentine's Day card I created a few of to send out. I had conversation hearts on the brain, although these do not have the traditional sayings. The hearts and sentiment are all from the PTI Heart Prints set. Love that set! The hearts were die cut using the middle Heart Prints die from Simply Chartreuse, Lavender Moon, Hibiscus Burst (pretty sure...), and Lemon Tart cardstock. They are all stamped using Fresh Snow ink. The card base is Kraft.

Any special V-Day plans? We'll be making a special dinner and all eating together, etc. Nothing crazy. :) I'd love to hear what you have planned!

Make It Monday!

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all having a relaxing day. It's been a productive morning of preparing a few more valentines for Monday...and actually creating some things to share with you this week!

I was inspired to make this card because of a greeting card I passed by in the store! Don't you love it when you see cute cards in the stores and think, "Hey! I can make that!"? :)

I created this card for Papertrey's Make It Monday Challenge. This week, we are challenged to create go-to sentiment cards, and I have to admit I am hoping to play again for tomorrow! :) I started with a White PTI card base. I created masks using an SU heart die (from Hearts and Brackets) and a rectangle frame I cut, and then I spritzed Razzle Dazzle Berry Vibez Shimmerz onto the exposed area. Can you see the shimmer? I then stamped a variety of PTI's love- and valentine-themed sentiments in True Black ink in the heart (some slightly overlapping the berry-spritzed area). I tied some Charcoal Twine from The Twinery around and secured this fabulous pink HEART button (from PTI) to the center of the bow! Can you BELIEVE I just opened my pink button jar and found this heart?!?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you tomorrow! :)
