Summer's Comin'!

That's right! Summer's just around the corner, and the Limelight Chicks are here to share some GREAT projects to help you get ready! Be sure to check out all of the Six Chicks' blogs as well as our 7th Six Chick for the month, Nikki Tanner! You will not be disappointed!

For my project, I created a Snow Cone gift set. I picked up a set of those snow cone holders (perfect for kiddos, I think!) and added a punched circle with the SO PERFECT stamp from TaDa Creative Studios.... Tee Hee Scream! It's a snow cone in a dish!!! Could be ice cream, too, of course, but doesn't it look JUST LIKE a snow cone?? I paper pieced the dish part with Lime Rickey paper, colored the metallic pieces with a Silver Spica pen, and added an orange rhinestone near each base. My favorite part of this project is the actual treat... I glittered each snow cone using Pink Paislee Pixee Stix (these are so cute AND affordable!) matching each snow cone holder. :)

The two bottles of snow cone syrup were covered with white paper and circles punched from more of the Lime Rickey paper were added as polka dots, carrying the pattern across from the cute snow cone cups I bought! I added some Pink Paislee alpha stickers to spell out the flavors, Blue Raspberry and Watermelon. Hello, SUMMER! :) I am including the snow cone cups (which are so cute that they need no decoration!) and a package of snow cone straws (the ones with the scoop on the end!) tied together with some tulle. Voila! Cute summery gift for a friend or a family!

Stamps: Tee Hee Scream (TaDa). Paper: GP White, Lime Rickey 6x6 Pad. Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black. Accessories: Silver Spica, Pixee Stix - Sugar Plum, Green Apple, Orange Crush, and Blueberry, Orange Rhinestones, Pink Paislee Holly Doodle Alpha Stickers - Raspberry, Butterfly Tulle, several circle punches.

SSS - Summer Sketch Challenge

My good friends Alex and Melissa have started a sketch challenge blog that will post a new sketch challenge every other Saturday! The first challenge is up TODAY!! You'll certainly want to check out the Scrap and Stamp Blog, not only for the sketch and inspiration, but also because they are offering up a PRIZE!! Can you guess who their first sponsor is? None other than... Limelight Papercrafts! :) We are so thrilled to be sponsoring this fabulous sketch! We've donated the following prize package to one lucky winner of the challenge:

-Basic Grey Wisteria 6x6 Paper Pad
-Basic Grey Bling It Individual Rhinestone Squares - Silver/Diamond
-Prima Painterly Petals - Urban Cosmos
-Shimmerz Spritz - Concrete

For my scrapbook page (Ooh! Look! I've made THREE now!!), I chose some photos from last summer's vacation to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. The challenge suggests a summer-themed page as well, so I thought this would be perfect! I am still learning to photograph my scrapbook pages, and for some reason the two outer pictures look fuzzy and light. They don't look like that in real life!! But I digress... Myrtle Beach is my husband's FAVORITE place in the world, so I made this with him in mind!

Paper: Bubble Blue, Mia - Whirl, Ink: Color Box - Silver. Accessories: Mia Glitter Borders, Mia Die Cuts, Pink Droplet (on the flower at the top).

I'll be back in a little bit to share my Six Chicks big project for this month... Our theme is Summer's Comin', and I know you'll be inspired and excited about the projects on display! :) For now.... Go try that sketch at Scrap and Stamp! :)

BALDERDASH Winner! :)

All right! This was a TOUGH competition... All of the stories were a blast to read, and I have been mulling over the winner for some time now! We have finally decided on Katy (cool name, by the way! Hee hee!), who said:

Beverly Hills Crop: Have you ever bought a paper trimmer, just to have it cut crooked lines? This movie is a documentary following one scrapbooker on her quest to find the perfect paper trimmer in Beverly Hills. Hours upon hours of watching her scour craft stores only to cut crooked. Definitely will put all scrapbookers on the edge of her seat! But how will this documentary end? Will she find "THE ONE?" Or will this be the end of her days as a Beverly Hills Cropper?

Can't we all totally relate to this one? Love the play on "the one" as well! Great job to EVERYONE!! Katy, e-mail me at mandy@limelightpapercrafts.com to be sure I have your address!

Blowing Bubbles

I hope you have all been enjoying the Limelight Anniversary Challenges and Games! There is still time left to join in most of the activities, so be sure to check it out! I have had lots of fun creating cards and even another scrapbook page based on my friends' challenges!

This scrapbook page at the top was based on Amy's Anniversary Scrap Sketch Challenge. I just adore this picture of Cameron. I believe it was taken at the end of last summer. We were blowing bubbles on the patio, and I snapped a few quick shots of him. My kids, like most, LOVE blowing bubbles, so I was glad to capture this moment. I am awful at photographing scrapbook pages, I have learned. It's really hard!! I have a hard enough time with cards and now this! ;) But I digress...

I made this grey and yellow card for Lorie's card sketch challenge. I cannot tell you how much I have used this sketch in the last several days!!! Try it.. It's a keeper!

And now for MY game!

I just LOVE board games! One of my favorites is Balderdash. It's a super-fun creative game where you have to make up the answers! For example, if you are defining a word (that no one has EVER heard of, mind you!), each player writes a convincing "definition" of that word. All of the possible "definitions", including the real definition, are read aloud, and players vote on which they believe is correct! As you can imagine, it gets crazy...and hilarious! My FAVORITE game ever!! We are going to play a sort of Balderdash game here!

I am going to give you a FAKE movie title about stamping and/or scrapbooking. I am making up this movie (so don't rush to the store thinking it's real! LOL!). You will write a convincing, creative, etc. description for this "movie" as a comment on this post. Remember, this (FAKE! FAKE!) movie is about stamping and/or scrapbooking. On Thursday morning, we will choose our favorite entry to be the winner! So get creative! Get funny! Get going! Remember, there's a Hullabaloo Stamp (Unity), Bazzill Scalloped Circle Chipboard Tags, and a bottle of Prima Sweet N Sassy Flowers - Cinderella up for grabs!!

The name of our "movie" is Beverly Hills Crop. (I crack myself up sometimes!!)
