Thank You, Brandi
How TOTALLY sweet is Brandi Parshley? I mean, seriously. The girl sent my FAMILY a package of just-because goodies!! My FAMILY! Not just me! She included things for my husband and I, and things for the kiddos, too! Cameron was totally wowed. Katy just wanted to eat everything, really. Especially those super fun glow sticks! ;) My husband totally claimed one of the pens and the sticky notes with The Office logos, etc. on them!
Brandi, thank you so much for being so sweet to us!

Friends
Happy Sunday morning! We are getting ready to head out for church, but I wanted to quickly post a project I created this weekend. We attended a Sunday School party last night (thanks again to the Wilsons for staying with the kids!), so I brought a small gift to the hostess. I had seen or heard of (I can't remember which) decorating pumpkins with rub-ons! What a SUPER FUN idea, right? I pulled out my Glitz rub-ons and used my bone folder to attach the rub-ons onto this mini pumpkin. I tell you, those Glitz rub-ons are the EASIEST to use... They go on like buttah! I spelled out the word "friends" with the rub-ons, and I tied a small piece of Parakeet Tulle to the stem to finish it off. That's it! Ten minutes to a perfectly adorable hostess gift!

Piggy Tales is in the LIMELIGHT
They are finally here!!
We fell in **LOVE** with the Sliding Doors and Pig Tails from Piggy Tales at CHA this summer! And they are finally in the store! You are going to LOVE THEM, TOO!!!
The Sliding Doors make a PERFECT addition to your scrapbooks or albums (maybe even cards? I'd LOVE to see someone try that!). They are also FABULOUS as Christmas ornaments! There are two spots for photos and/or journaling, etc., and there's a slide that you move left and right to reveal the images. :) Very fun!
The Pig Tails are like pop-up dots gone crazy! There is a spring placed between two self-adhesive pads, and you use them to pop up stamped images, photos, chipboard shapes...whatever you can imagine!
We have several of each product left in stock, but GET YOURS NOW before they sell out! If we do run out, however, we have another shipment scheduled to arrive next week! Hurry! :)
What else is COMING SOON??? Well, not to name drop or anything, but we've got Pink Paislee Pixee Stix, Core'dinations, the new Stickles, Little Yellow Bicycle.... Yeah, it's going to be a good Autumn! ;)

Ain't no party like an OFFICE PARTY!
Yep, that's a stapler (and a staple remover...just in case, I suppose) in Jell-O. We're getting ready for an Office Party over here! Some friends are coming to watch the premiere of The Office with us, and we had to go all out. My friend Lorie and I have made arrangements for name badges (with acrostics a la Dwight), soft pretzels (pretzel day), Kevin's m&m jar, and a Fudgie the Whale cake. We don't do things halfway around here....No way! ;)
Happy Thursday evening!
Thanks, Michelle!
I have the sweetest friends EVER! Michelle sent me this super cute Changito Vamp card that she made! How AWESOME is this card! I love everything about it. Seriously, when I opened the envelope, I said, "Wow!" out loud!! :) Hallmark could never dare to make someone respond that way! ;) Thanks so much Michelle, you are the BEST!

If posting to a blog is a problem, I will accept e-mailed photos, too! :) LOTS OF FUN, right?!?!? A few of my design team members will also be hosting one-time-stop games…. A CHALLENGING Weekend! Ha!
I crack myself up sometimes... A challenging weekend! I have worked on three challenges this weekend, the first of course being the Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge! There is still time for YOU to play along and create a card using some ribbon scraps and the sketch. I will choose a participant at random tomorrow morning, and that person will win an assortment of ten yards of ribbon! CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS!!
I created this card for Taylor's Cupcake challenge #34. I put the main image to the right of the panel of patterned paper, though, and I did not do any stitching because of the darkness of my papers! I absolutely adore this tree by justjohanna's Odd Bird Planet. It's called Kelly's Tree, and I think it is SO super cute! I paper pieced the tree using the same Spooky patterned papers that are used in the background. The papers are double-sided, and I actually used all four sides on this card!
Stamps: Kelly's Tree. Paper: Groovy Grape DoubleMates, GP White, Pebbles, Inc. Spooky Circles/Black Swirls and Spooky Stripes/Orange Dots. Ink: Palette Noir. Accessories: Raven Tulle.
I made this card for Lauren's Saturday Sketch. What a FUN sketch! I love all the layers! I love the finished look to this card! I had fun using the Apple Cider DP from last year's SU! patterned paper collection. I LOVE making curlies with super-thin strips of cardstock! See the curlies on the pumpkin stems?!? LOVE that! So fun! Just cut a thin strip and wrap it around something like a straight pin to get it to curl!
Stamps: Cathrine's Pumpkin Large. Paper: Close to Cocoa, GP White, SU! Apple Cider DP, Garden Green. Ink: Palette Noir, Chocolate Chip. Accessories: Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Oval Coluzzle Template, Corner Rounder Punch, Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

Tree to Decorate
Hello! I made another card for the Limelight sketch and product challenge today! I changed it up a bit, though. I used a rectangle instead of a circle for the main image, and I added a layer underneath! I absolutely love how this card turned out! I used the Tree to Decorate stamp by Odd Bird Planet (LOVE this stamp!) and a palette of bright pink and green. Added some shimmery, textured ribbons and some rhinestone bling...and VOILA! Hope you like this card as much as I do! I think I'm going to make some more for my Christmas card stash!!
Remember to make your own card using this sketch and link it to THIS POST for a chance to win a ten yard assortment of some fabulous ribbons!!!
Stamps: Tree to Decorate (OBP). Paper: Green Galore, Pretty Pink DoubleMates, GP White. Ink: Green Galore. Accessories: Parrot Green/Yellow 2Tone/Textured Ribbon, Rose/Pink 2Tone/Textured Ribbon, Kaisercraft Rhinestones (soft pink, silver, and yellow), foam tape.

Limelight Sketch Challenge #4
Every second Thursday, the wonderful Brandi Parshley introduces a fun new sketch challenge and product focus for us to play with! And today is Thursday! Yay!!
This sketch and product challenge will feature ribbon from Limelight! As you'll notice in the sketch there are 4 panels behind the main circle, and they should be ribbon! There are so many gorgeous ribbons over at Limelight, that it should be tough to pick just four! Of course, use any ribbons you have on hand, too! ;)
My card uses the Cupcakes A La Yummy stamp set from Unity Stamp Company. How cute, huh?? I colored the frosting with my Copics and paper pieced the cupcake liner with a scrap of Pebbles, Inc. patterned paper (used the same line of paper for the background). The frosting is coated in Cotton Candy Stickles, and there's a Red Kaisercraft Rhinestone serving as a cherry. The ribbon behind the main image is Fuchsia with White Stripes Grosgrain Ribbon by May Arts. The card base is Pretty Pink Doublemates. Love that stuff! The texture rocks, and the two coordinating sides makes for easy matching. This is such a fun, simple sketch, and I had lots of fun playing with it. I have a couple more cards to finish up using this sketch. I'll be posting those over the next couple of days.
Now it is your turn! I will choose one of the submissions (randomly!) to win a ten-yard assortment of ribbon from Limelight Papercrafts! And included will be some of the new TULLE RIBBON we received this week! Enter your card by submitting a comment and a link to your card or online gallery on this post. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, September 21, at midnight to be eligible for the prize. If you upload to SCS please use keyword: LLPC004 so we can all view your creations!
Be sure to click on the design team links on my sidebar to see the wonderful creations they came up with! :)
Unity Cupcake Picks
We are getting ready to leave for Wednesday night church, and tonight Cameron and Katy will be celebrating the birthday of their Wednesday night childcare worker, Ms. Tiffany. :) Her actual birthday is this Friday, but Cameron couldn't pass up the opportunity to make some cupcakes. He's been saying "Birthday cake" again and again.... Anyway, we made Funfetti cupcakes (Ms. Tiffany's favorite) and I made these cute little picks to top them. I used the cupcakes from Unity's Cupcakes A La Yummy (By the way, LOTS of NEW Unity stamps will be in the Limelight this Friday!!) on scalloped circles. I paper pieced the cupcake liners with Sprinkles from Basic Grey's Two Scoops line and quickly chalked the frosting using Pebbles, Inc. Pearlescent Chalks. Love that shimmer! I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch holes around the scallops. Each cupcake is embellished with Stickles. Finally, I layered onto Taken with Teal or Pixie Pink cardstock, taped on a toothpick, and VOILA! Cute cupcakes! :) Cupcakes on cupcakes... CUPCAKE OVERLOAD! But I think they turned out pretty cute. ;)
By the way, the $4 Unity singles are about to go up a little in price to $5 per stamp. This increase is due to the increase in our cost. I will update the new prices on Friday when the new shipment comes in. To save a dollar or two, order your singles NOW!

A HOUSEwarming Gift...
Do you know what today is? None other than the day of the season five premiere of House, MD! Hooray!!! I am so excited... This is my absolute favorite show! We really don't watch much TV. Just House and The Office. :) It seemed only fitting that today's project would be dedicated to House. I wanted to alter an item to hold some treats, and I'd never seen anyone alter a prescription bottle. Why do prescription bottles fit the theme? Well, YES, it's a hospital drama show! But if you watch, you know that House is always popping Vicodin. It is best to use bottles that have never held medicines, obviously, and some pharmacies will oblige if you ask them for a couple of empty bottles. If you want to try this project with some empty bottles that you have lying around the house, PLEASE be sure to wash them VERY well! And do not use them if residue from medicine they contained could POSSIBLY be dangerous. I am probably labeling myself Captain Obvious by saying all that, but still...
I used the Spooky patterned papers by Pebbles, Inc. Of course. I LOVE these papers! Haven't gotten yours yet? Order them HERE! I embellished simply, using cardstock stickers from the Spooky Stickers sheet and Spooky Words sticker sheet from the same line.
Did you notice that SUPER COOL ribbon around the bottle?? Limelight Papercrafts now carries Tulle Ribbon (by Bazzill) in four colors! The colors I used are Raven and Butterfly, and we also carry Tink Pink (what a fun name!) and Parakeet. I will be entering in some more new ribbon this afternoon (brown stripe, brown gingham, brown sheer polka dot, red stripe, black stripe...) so keep your eyes peeled!!
What's in this bottle? REESE'S PIECES! Fits the color theme, right?
If you make one of these, leave me a link! I'd love to see what you come up with. These would also be great get well gifts, wouldn't they?? ;)

I've Been Bitten.... And Our Day!
Okay, this will be a longer post, so before I even get started.... Don't forget to CLICK HERE and enter my blog giveaway...a Unity Stamp Company Cupcakes A La Yummy stamp set!!!
I'll start with my card, and then you can skip over the family stuff if you'd like. As the title of this post states, I have, indeed, been bitten. I kept hearing everyone talking about the Twilight book series by Stephenie Meyer. I saw some of the teen girls at our church toting the books around and reading them with intense concentration. I very quickly learned that this book series was not only captivating the younger audience, but adults of varying ages. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I saw Angela Magnuson from Unity Stamp Company raving over these books! I decided to give them a try. I believe that it was last Thursday that I picked up the first five-hundred-page novel (each is about that long), Twilight. What did I think of it? Well, let me put it this way.... I am well into the third novel, and it is nearly 3:00 the following Wednesday. They certainly are addictive!!! It sounds so strange to explain what the premise of the story is, a teenage girl who moves to small town Washington state and falls hopelessly in love with a vampire, and to say how much I, an adult!, am enjoying it. And for the record, there have been discussions over whose "team" readers are on... Team Edward or Team Jacob. For me, DEFINITELY Team Edward! :)
So... I was looking through my Glitz digital papers (you get LOTS with the Digital Cardmaking CD), and the word "vampire" stuck out. See?? It is near the bottom!
I immediately thought of my new obsession (any book I am reading tends to be an obsession for me), and thought I would make a card in honor of the book! I love using the Glitz CD to make a complete card and then embellish it, like Jennifer (JenMarie) has so wonderfully done HERE, but for this card, I knew I only wanted to print the paper as a background. I mixed digital and "real" elements for this card. I used a strip of the new Pebbles, Inc. Spooky Circles/Black Swirls patterned paper to save the image from getting lost in the words in the background. I embellished with some SU! Pumpkin ribbon and Silver Kaisercraft rhinestones. The main image is the vampire (of COURSE!!) from Batty For You. I stamped him in white craft ink on Basic Black cardstock, then dabbed on some Pebbles, Inc. Pearlescent Chalk (on sale NOW!!) for a fun, eerie green glow. He is popped up on a Green Galore scalloped circle, which I dotted with my Black Spica pen. My favorite part? The last-minute addition of two tiny Red Kaisercraft rhinestone eyes!!! If you are reading the stories, I suppose he is hungry.... ;)
Here is a closeup of the vampire:
Now for a description of our very eventful day! We went out this morning to bring something to a friend at my old job. I worked as a fifth grade teacher at a Christian school nearby. We really enjoyed seeing everyone! We got to spend a little extra time with Cherie, Janice, and Amy, and the kids really loved it. Cherie was nice enough to give Cameron a present... a crayon in a plastic tool that allows you to pop out and choose one color at a time for the point. Cherie, you have no idea how much fun we had with that today alone!!! I can tell it is going to be a favorite. In the first picture below, you can see the crayon and the picture he drew using it! Amy introduced Cameron and Katy to the new group of fifth graders... they were shy but VERY interested!! When we came home, we played a while before naptime all together, and we did way more than you would expect for one afternoon!
After coloring (note the picture in the background) Cameron went to work. He loves to pretend he is going to work, and today he got out one of Daddy's ties and one of Daddy's belts. See the little professional....
As you will notice in Exhibit B... Katy got stuck under our bed!! She is crawling a little, and she loves to just sit, then roll and crawl, then lie down, then sit up again, then crawl again, etc. I was helping Cameron color and she was sitting on the floor. She started to fuss all of a sudden, I turned around, and she was under the bed! HA! She was completely okay, and it was really funny! She was totally playing up the damsel in distress mode...
I was changing Katy's diaper before naptime, and Cameron was playing in his bed. He brought Daddy's tie into his bed, and was standing up shaking it outside of the toddler rail. What is he doing, you wonder? Well, isn't it obvious? He is FISHING! :)
We had lots of fun playing today, and I know it won't always be as this picture conveys every minute of our lives, but I am so glad Cameron and Katy enjoy each other as much as they do!

10K Limelight Loot Giveaway!!!
Wow! I can't believe my little blog has passed 10,000 hits!! What a rush! Why don't you help me celebrate? I have a Unity Stamp Company Cupcakes A La Yummy unmounted stamp set ready to give away to one lucky blog reader!
Leave a comment on this post telling me what YOU are celebrating right now! A birthday or anniversary, a promotion, a baptism, Tuesday, National Elephant Day, WHATEVER! It can be something major or an everyday simple pleasure! :) I'll draw the winner of Cupcakes A La Yummy this Friday, September 12, sometime in the afternoon!
Secret Family Ingredient
Well, we are past 10,000 hits to my blog! WOW! I'm so thrilled! I'll be putting together a Limelight Loot giveaway today! I'll try to post that this afternoon or evening! HOW FUN!
I made this card using a piece of Flair What's Cooking? paper. I was sure to trim it just right so that "secret ingredient" would be lined up just perfectly! I also cut another piece of this striped paper, which says "family recipe" and matted it to serve as the sentiment. I used the Odd Bird Planet Paisley Heart as the main image. I *HEART* that heart! I love how this card came together. I love the greens and purples, and even moreso, I love the images and sentiments.... "secret ingredient", "family recipe", and the heart to convey LOVE! Get it?
Have a great day! I'll be back later with a prize!!

Did Brandi say "Bling"?
Well, here ya go, then! Lots of bling! I am not sure if I'm really crazy about this card, but I was just in the mood to play with some embellishments, namely bling. This card uses the Limelight Papercrafts sketch challenge. Click here for more details! Remember to leave a comment on that post, too, by tomorrow at midnight with a link to your creation using the sketch and BLING!! A random winner will receive a 20% off coupon to the store!
I used Doodlebug Glitter paper in Bubblegum as the card base. I mean, it doesn't get any blingier (blingier?) than that! The background paper is from the Beach Collection from EK Success. I outlined several things with a Black Spica pen, like Bella's sunglasses and the tote bag. I used a Clear Spica pen to color her teeth. Hee hee! Why shouldn't Bella's teeth sparkle?? She IS perfect, after all! Bella is colored using Copics. I used a few Kaisercraft Rhinestones, a Prima Say it in Crystals Summer Rhinestone picture (on sale!), and some Prima Sprites to embellish!
Stamps: Wonderful Words, Kinibella. Paper: Bubblegum Glitter Cardstock, GP White, EK Success DP. Ink: Pink Passion, Palette Noir. Accessories: Copics, Spicas, Black Prima Sprites, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Prima Say it in Crystals Summer.

Limelight Sketch Challenge #3
Every second Thursday, the wonderful Brandi Parshley introduces a fun new sketch challenge and product focus for us to play with! And today is Thursday! Hooray!!
With a major holiday this week and the kids going back to preschool/school/college, plus all the fall activities and sports, it's hard to find time to stamp! The name of the game this week is K.I.S.S.... Keep It Simple Stamper! (Haha...I got the "Stamper" part of KISS from Brandi, and it made me smile!)
This week's product challenge is to use bling, now how easy is that?! Any kind of bling will do! Glitter, stickles, fibers, rhinestones, pearls.... ANY kind of bling!
My card uses the Pebbles, Inc. Spooky line. I LOVE this line!! It is so fun and easy to work with! And with the super-cute cardstock stickers, it was a cinch to put this together. I also used a few of the Prima Sprites 2 in Black that we just got in stock for a cute layered embellishment. :) I really love this card! And did you noticed that I did NOT use ANY glitter at all! I used rhinestones and a brad for the bling! :) And I still like the card...hahaha! I loved this sketch so much that I have another one halfway done! Be sure to play along with this one!!
Now it is your turn! I will choose one of the submissions (randomly!) to win a 20% off discount code to use at Limelight Papercrafts! Enter your card by submitting a comment and a link to your card or online gallery on this post. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, September 7, at midnight to be eligible for the prize. If you upload to SCS please use keyword: LLPC003 so we can all view your creations!
Stamps: Rough Edges Alphabet. Paper: Marigold Morning, Spooky Stripes/Orange Dots paper, Old Olive. Ink: Old Olive. Accessories: Spooky Stickers, Black Prima Sprites 2, Orange MM Brad, Black Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Ticket Corner Punch, Foam Tape.
