Fall/Halloween Treats

It's September 6, the day when the Limelight DT brings you fabulous inspiration for your Fall and Halloween Treats! :) For my project, I created a pumpkin basket for holding treats! I cut nine 1" x 12" strips of paper from the new Pink Paislee Twilight collection for the basket. Eight of the strips are hole-punched in the middle and fastened together with a brad. The ninth strip is the piece you see around the top, holding the basket together. I reinforced the inside of the basket by attaching a cardstock circle with the brad holding the pieces together. I then added a Large Harvest Bean Seed leaf-shaped felt piece to each side, held on by glittery Pink Paislee Bella Brads. The handle is made from two twisted pieces of kraft shipping filler that I received from our recent Unity Stamp Company shipment! Gotta love recycling. ;) Especially when it's cute! As you can see below, the pumpkin basket is filled with the Halloween assortment of peanut m&m's.... Mmmmm...... Ahem! Doesn't it look like the parts of a real pumpkin?

Let me know if you'd like a tutorial. I'm sure I could get that going for you! :) Can't you see so many possibilities for this basket, other than pumpkins?

Be sure to check out the projects created by my team! Their blogs are listed in my sidebar. Have a happy Sunday! We are off to a morning of worship and then straight to the NC mountains for an apple festival, swimming in the lake, and gem mining! I'll update with pictures, for sure!

Paper: Pink Paislee Twilight - Dusk. Accessories: PP Twilight Bella Brads, Large Harvest Bean Seeds, Kraft Filler Paper.

Sketch Challenge 29: DOTS!

Hello, my friends! Welcome to another round of the Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge! Hope you are ready to bring out those dots, because that's what we are focusing on this week! Polka dotted papers, Embossed dots, Pearls, Rhinestones, Pebbles, etc.! But don't forget... if you do NOT have any dots, be creative when interpreting the theme, or just omit the dots altogether! We still want you to play along! :)

For my card, I chose to use the NEW Pink Paislee Twilight collection. I started by choosing some dotted paper, Eclipse and a fun accent color, the deep purple side of the Sunset paper (these are all double-sided). For the sentiment, I chose to use the Pink Paislee Expressions Glitter Alphabet in Licorice. These are SO, SO cool. I cannot stress that enough! They are black chipboard letters COVERED in pretty silver glitter! They stick onto the paper SO well (sometimes an issue with alphabet stickers), and they are SO sparkly! As a matter of fact, I sprayed my Basic Black (SU) cardstock with some Concrete Shimmerz Spritz to match the glittery look of the alphas! Three Wine Rhinestones at the bottom completed the look, and added to the dark handsomeness of the card. :)

Here is an up-close view of the spritzed background so you can see the glittery beauty of the Shimmerz Spritz!

Okay, now it's your turn...

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Guest Designer!

That's right. I'm honored to have been asked to be the guest designer for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge blog! Limelight is also the sponsor for the week, and we are giving away a Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend 6x6 Mini Deck! Be sure you play along and create a card for a chance to win! :)

The challenge for the week is to create a card for your husband, and I knew immediately which stamp set I was going to use. :) Drew is the youth minister at our church, so I pulled out my Unity Middle School Madness stamp set. I used Tiffany's ribbon pleating tutorial as a jumping off point (love Tiff's tutorial!), but instead pleated my Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper for some color and funk. I used the boy and girl images with the hearts for eyes, and I popped them up on dimensionals. I colored the faces and hair with my SU chalks, and I added some Fruit Punch Stickles to the hearts/eyes! Stamped my sentiment in Real Red ink, and DONE!

I really love the concept of the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenges... They use Scripture as an inspiration for creating all kinds of cards! Please do play along! I would love to see what you come up with, and I KNOW the ladies over at SSIC would, too!

The Deets:
*Create a card for your husband (and GIVE it to him! LOL!).
*Link your creation back to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog post by Saturday Sept 5th at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific time) to be entered into the drawing for the CC The Boyfriend Mini Deck!
*If you post your card on any of the wonderful online stamping communities, please use the keyword SSCC2.

Cool Beans Buttons WINNER!

Yeah, you guys CRACKED ME UP with your button ideas! :) But I could only pick one, and this one really had me rolling!

Kelly said...

Love these buttons! They'd be great for a practical joke. Put a glue dot on the back and stick it to the floor. Then watch people try to pick it up!

Kelly, zip me your address, and these buttons are YOURS! Be sure to check back on Thursday, everyone, for our next Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge. You will have another chance to win some of these fantastic buttons!

Welcome to Ann Cox, September 7th Six Chick!

Our 7th Six Chick for the month of September is none other than the brilliant and super-sweet Ann Cox! You may know Ann as that lucky gal who seems to keep winning lots of giveaways from Limelight (we all SWEAR that's coincidence!! LOL!)... But more than likely you are following Ann's fabulous creations on her blog, Creative Antics. We are so thrilled to have such a talented artist working with us this month!

A bit about Ann...

*I’m a teacher, wife, mom to a furry baby, and lover of all things paper crafty. I was first introduced to this hobby through Stampin’ Up! in 2004, but didn’t become a full-blown crafting addict until I started my blog last year. I currently design for Get Sketchy, and I’m SO excited to be the Seventh Sixth Chick for September!*

And here are just a few of Ann's recent beauties, straight from her blog...
