Cute items! I would have to say my favorite way to eat a lime is in Key Lime Pie ice cream! I've only had it once, in Key West, but it was fabulous! Except, of course, for when I stepped a little too close to the key lime tree, ouch!

E-mail me with your address, and I'll get those goodies out your way! :)

Spotlight on Waste Not Paper!! AND EMMA JOERSZ!

Our featured designer, I am excited to say, is my neighbor and close friend Emma Joersz! Emma is a stay-at-home mommy to her two boys, Colton and Beckett, who happen to be my two kiddos' best buddies! Emma is QUITE a talented artist, and can do anything from painting pottery to scrapbooking to photography to graphic design! In fact, Emma was the designer of out Limelight Papercrafts logo and other business designs.

We will be carrying Waste Not Paper products in the store. WNP is transitioning all of their card stocks to be recycled. We will be carrying only their recycled colors. The 8 1/2 x 11 card stock colors we will offer are White (FYI- this is not a bright white. It is more of a soft white...), Strawberry, Cement, Poppy, Pool, Moss, Chartreuse, and Chocolate. Also available will be 5 3/4" square envelopes in white and A2 envelopes in White and Chocolate. We will also be carrying the 5 1/2" circle cards and 5 1/8" scalloped circle cards (single die cut card, not folded) in Chocolate, Pool, and White. You can see my card created using these products here. I used two pieces of the Chocolate circles and one piece of the Pool circle to make this card. I am excited to say that in addition to all of these great recycled products, we'll be carrying Takeout Boxes and Pyramid Boxes in white!! These come pre-scored and ready to stamp/embellish and fill with goodies! Check back here tomorrow for more Limelight Loot! We'll be giving away some Waste Not Paper goodies!!! (And some other fun stuff, too!)

Here is Emma's scrapbook page of her son Beckett using Waste Not Paper Chocolate Scalloped Circles! I love how she cut the circles to create such an interesting design on her page. The Stickles were a nice touch, too! Note the super-cool fonts..Emma DREW all of that herself! Oh, and look at that ADORABLE baby!! :) Hi baby Beckett!

Check back in the morning for ANOTHER round of Limelight Loot! Remember, we'll be giving away a Pink Cat Studio stamp set in this prize package!!

Spotlight on Pink Cat Studio!! AND LAUREN MEADER!

Good morning, and happy Memorial Day! Today I'll be doing another Product Spotlight!!! We'll be looking at Pink Cat Studio stamps. Are you familiar with these? Well, you should be because they are just AWESOME!! Today's featured stamper is none other than the exceptionally talented LAUREN MEADER!! Lauren is a recent addition to the Pink Cat Studio design team, so I felt she'd be the perfect person to help with this Spotlight! I was so thrilled when she agreed!

We will be carrying Pink Cat Studio stamps in the store. We will start out carrying three of the sets, then add more. We will begin by carrying Dress Up Lily, Billy, and Party Farm Animals (my personal favorite so far!). Check back here tomorrow for more Limelight Loot! We'll be giving away a Pink Cat Studio stamp set!!! (And some other goodies to go with it!)

Here are some projects using Pink Cat Studio stamps created by Lauren Meader! Lauren has been published many times! Her publication list includes Paper Crafts magazine. Stamp It, Crafts 'n Things, Paper Trends, and Cards Magazine.

I also asked Lauren the same list of questions I asked Kim. Here are her responses:

LLPC (Limelight Papercrafts): What are your favorite colors to use on a card?
Lauren:
That is a super difficult question! I love soft greens, browns and pinks. I think a white base is always so clean and striking.
LLPC: Which design teams are you a member of?
Lauren: I keep pretty busy!! Only 5 of the teams have a release that keeps me running.
All That Scraps
Craft Critique-Senior Reporter
Gina K Designs Stamps for a Cause
Lizzie Anne Designs
My Favorite Things
Our Daily Bread monthly guest designer
Papertrey Ink
Pink Cat Studio
Scor-Pal Design Team
Smilebox Avaitor
LLPC:Which is the last stamp you used?
Lauren: A Papertrey Ink new release-so I can't tell!
LLPC:
What is your favorite snack/junk food?
Lauren: While I love chocolate my weakness seems to change time to time-I am really in love with Twizzlers and most recently peanut M&M's. Which is funny because I'm not normally a
peanut anything fan. If its something salty I'm in love with chips & dip! So not a good thing.
LLPC: What is the best movie you've seen recently?
Lauren: Disturbia with Shia LaBeouf.
LLPC:
Do you have any TV shows you regularly watch? Which ones?
Lauren: Oh I LOVE LOST, Grey's Anatomy, HEROES (where has that been), HOUSE, Ghost Whisperer (which is a new one for me), Desperate Housewives, The Bachelor (I have watched every one since the start and always say I won't next time, but still do), and So you think you can dance (when it's on) and American Idol. WOW I didn't think I watched that much stuff!
LLPC:
Paper or plastic?
Lauren: I honestly just let them pack it up in plastic so I can get out of the store with my 3
kids ASAP! I should be more green :C
LLPC: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
Lauren: Normally I take the weekends off from stamping, and spend them with my husband and kids. We usually have some sort of activity going on. I love when we are all together, out and
about. They are all at fabulous ages to do things.

You may have noticed that I have changed the title of my blog to Limelight Papercrafts. With the upcoming opening of www.limelightpapercrafts.com, I feel it is only appropriate to link the blog to my store! I will be changing the URL of my blog as well. Please take note that beginning on Monday, May 19, the address for this blog will be www.limelightpapercrafts.blogspot.com. Please let me know if you would like me to e-mail you a reminder when the switchover occurs! Thanks for your support! We are so excited about all of these new beginnings!

Here is a card for your viewing pleasure (haha):

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to you all! I am sharing a card I made with you as well as my Mother's Day gift to my mother (Happy Mother's Day especially to her). I went to Origins Cosmetics (Mom's favorite) and picked up a mascara and an eyeliner for her because she said she needed them. I packaged them with a couple of samples from Origins and some Godiva dark chocolate covered almonds (YUM!) and made this tag using justjohanna's Paisley Heart on a Daisy D's card stock tag. I wrote "I only have EYES for Mom" on the tag. The tag is actually a leftover from the card stock die cut shapes I received for a justjohanna assignment. We were sent Daisy D's sheet of die cuts from the Wonder Years "Wonderland" line, which were designed by Stephanie Dosreis. If you've never been to her blog, you MUST check it out! Anyway, I have to admit that I'd never used die cuts and was a little nervous about it. But I had SO much fun using these things! And drawing from these vibrant, happy colors was a good change for me.

This card features Bernard Right, which I thought would be nice with the card stock hearts.

Stamps: Bernard Right (justjohanna). Paper: Pink Passion, Summer Sun, PTI White. Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Palette Noir. Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Stamping Bella Pearl Baubles, Daisy D's Wonderland Die Cuts, Corner Rounder Punch.

Strawberries!

It seems like the name of the game is strawberries here lately! We took Cameron and Katy to a strawberry field this morning, and we picked a gallon of strawberries! Cameron did such a great job picking the berries! And such an even BETTER job eating them! ;) He was very funny; as we were coming to the end of our row of berries to leave, Cameron turned around and said, "Thank you, strawberries!" It was SO funny! That crazy kid! We didn't get any pictures from the actual picking (we decided to go last minute and did not have our camera) but I did get a few shots of Cameron enjoying the fruits of his labor (Get it?? The FRUITS of his labor???) and a few things I made with the plethora of berries. Notice Cameron's oh-so-lovely "smile" face in the first picture.

The little pie is a strawberry cream pie recipe that I found on www.allrecipes.com. It has cream cheese and Cool Whip in it, was oh-so-easy, and tastes quite yummy!

Stamps: Strawberry Topiary, Very Sweet-jj mix (justjohanna). Paper: PTI White, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey Sultry. Ink: Black, Chocolate Chip. Accessories: Pure Color Pencils, Crystal Effects, White Signo Gel Pen, Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

Katy, too...

Okay, how 'bout one more picture? My dad sent me this REALLY cute picture of Katy, so let's give her a post, too! It's only fair, after all... This was also taken Saturday at the birthday party!

Clearly Sultry

Wow, that sounds like such a taboo title, doesn't it?? Hmm... Well, I really liked how this card turned out. I used justjohanna's Strawberry Topiary for the main image, and I used my Basic Grey Sultry 6x6 Pad for the papers. We WILL be carrying the Paper Pads as well as a few of the 12x12 Sultry papers (as well as some other Basic Grey lines...Boxer, Two Scoops, Cupcake, and Sugared) at Limelight Papercrafts! And by the way, I figured out something about the 6x6 Paper Pads! I'll bet EVERYONE already realized this (except for MOI, of course!), but the patterns are shrinked down smaller for the 6x6's than they are on the 12x12's!!! How COOL is that??? Anyway, I used acetate for the card base and tied a grey taffeta ribbon to finish it off.

Stamps: Strawberry Topiary. Paper: PTI White, Basic Grey Sultry 6x6 Paper Pad (for all layers). Ink: Black. Accessories: Pure Color Pencils, Crystal Effects, Acetate, Grey Taffeta Ribbon, White Signo Gel Pen.

I also wanted to include a picture of Cameron with his buddy Colton from his birthday party this past Saturday. Aren't they SO cute eating their pizza? Cameron definitely made a mess!

Life's Short- Eat Cupcakes!

It feels like it's been a crazy week already! And it is only Tuesday...Tuesday MORNING!!! Cameron had his two-year check-up at the doctor's office yesterday. He is finally up to the 20-25th percentile for weight! WOO-HOO!!! (Right, Lorie??) He has always been a little bit of a featherweight. But he is very healthy. He had to get his finger pricked and one shot in his arm. He didn't even cry! He was such a big boy! Mommy would have cried! ;)

This card features justjohanna's Big Al and Allison Little. I love these little guys. They look like they are waiting for cupcakes with this background, I think! :) The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Cupcakes line...it is "Cake and Ice Cream". LOVE THIS LINE OF PAPER! And, of course, we will be carrying this paper at www.limelightpapercrafts.com! Won't be long! June 1! We could not be more thrilled. And speaking of that, I think I'd like to do some product showcases over the next couple of weeks, particularly on products you may not be familiar with. I will be working on that and sharing it with you soon.

Hope you have a fantastic day! I think we may go out for a walk before a tutoring session today. It's beautiful out!

Stamps: Big Al, Allison Little (justjohanna). Paper: Soft Sky, Ruby Red, PTI White, Basic Grey Cupcakes DP. Ink: Ruby Red, Palette Noir. Accessories: Watercolor Crayons, Stickles, Black Marker, Pop-up Glue Dots.
