SKETCH 65: CHIPBOARD!

I'll be posting a little early (it's not quite Thursday...), but maybe some of you are up tonight looking for a sketch challenge. ;) This week, we are focusing on incorporating chipboard, and I love my chipboard letters. :)

The card base here is Baja Breeze (SU), and I used a couple of patterns from Pink Paislee's Sweetness collection. LOVE these gorgeous papers. I used a doily, sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz (I used Mudpie), and cut a circle out to peek the patterned paper. The Basic Grey chipboard letters were inked up with SU's More Mustard to match the colors in the card. I really love the ribbon treatment. :) I bunched a line of Ivory Silk Ribbon and secured it with glue dots. I then wrapped some brown string (Sorry...out of stock!) around the pleats and tied a bow. Simple, but something elegant and fun at the same time. If you would like to purchase the ivory ribbon in a smaller amount, please let me know!

Be sure to check out our super-talented sketch designers:

Lynn Miller
Jennifer Taylor
Karen Baker
Lauren Bergold

And a NEW sketch designer, Maggie Haas! Maggie has been featured on our favorites MANY times! We are very excited to welcome her to the sketch team!

On more of a somber note, this card was made for my mom. It's, sadly, a sympathy card that will be needed this week. Please keep her especially in your prayers tomorrow, as we are saying goodbye to my Papa, mom's stepdad. Both of her biological parents have passed away, and her stepdad (who raised her) will be taken off of life support tomorrow afternoon. Please pray for peace and God's comfort.

THE DETAILS:
**Use the sketch provided and try to incorporate some CHIPBOARD!

**Post a comment with a link to your card on right here on this post by Sunday, January 23, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).

Crazy About YOU

I just love making valentines. :) I used to not really be crazy about V-Day, but making cards and treats for this holiday is the best! Maybe it's because you can use as much PINK as you want! Hee hee... ;) This is one of the cards I'll give to Drew on or leading up to Valentine's Day. It took a while to tie the Pink Sorbet Twine (from The Twinery) through so many buttons, but I knew I'd love the end result. It's a simple card, but it has some fun touches.

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Stamps: All About You & ABY Accessories (PTI). Paper: Hibiscus Burst, White. Ink: Black, Pixie Pink. Accessories: Pink Sorbet Twine, Black and White Buttons, PTI Small Label Die.

All You Need Is Love

I'm just loving my LYB Cupcake Love papers. :) I'm trying not to hoard them, but to actually USE them! I started with this heart pattern and punched a heart from it. I wanted to use these colors to build a unique color scheme. I'm happy with this simple CAS card!

The cardstock base is Lavender Moon, and the Framed (PTI) frame is stamped in True Black. Both sentiments are from Fillable Frames 11. I stamped the {all you need is love} sentiment in Pure Poppy ink to add to the color interest I was going for. I finished this simple square card with a Hawaiian Shores button on the heart, tied with a little Maraschino Twine.

Have a *love*ly day!!

SKETCH 64: RIBBON!

*card edited in!*

I couldn't resist cutting into my new valentine papers from Little Yellow Bicycle! This is their Cupcake Love collection, and I just love these candy hearts!! I started with a Pure Poppy card base and rounded the corners. I then punched twelve 1.25" circles from the candy heart paper to make some ruffly scallops. For my ribbon, which we are focusing on this week, I chose a black tulle so that it would really pop! Two heart stick pins, also from LYB's Cupcake Love collection, were pulled through the knot. I punched and inked a heart (using an SU punch) from the same candy heart paper for the top of my card. I popped the heart up a little using Pop It! Circles. Now, did you see that super-fabulous stamp?!? I love the Happy Day stamp from Stampendous! What a simple, cute valentine-themed sentiment that could be used on valentines for ANYONE! We only have one left in stock, and it's only $3.53, so be sure to snag it while it's available!! There are plenty of other Stampendous stamps, including some that would be perfect for valentines!!
