Happy Thursday! It is time for another Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge! This week we have a highly popular product to give away to one lucky winner... A package of Webster's Pages Bloomers (in COCO)!!

So pull out all things fuzzy and fluffy (or just soft or textured...whatever you've got!), and play along! :)

I absolutely love how my card came out! I made this for a dear friend's birthday, and I just love it! I love the texture of my new impressions plate (Sunshine by PTI), I love my cute turtle, the layout...everything! My fuzz and fluff comes from some Fun Flock! I added it to my butterfly and selected sections and hearts on the turtle. I also want to say that I colored the turtle using Shimmery Chalks from Pebbles, Inc. Love those. :) The stripes of patterns along the bottom are actually created not with patterned paper, but with the new Coordinating Stickers from Jillibean Soup!

Stamps: May Unity Store Kit.
Paper: Summer Sunrise, White.
Ink: True Black.
Accessories: Fun Flock, Shimmery Chalks, Summer Squash Soup Coordinating Stickers, PTI Buttons, Sunshine Impressions Plate.

Thank You Treats

We have some friends helping us keep the kids this week while we are at work (only a few more weeks of school! WOOHOO!), and I wanted to send some little treats for the kids to give them as a thank you. I die cut this Basket using my SU die and Big Shot. Both of the projects feature a Lemon Tart cardstock container, Cosmo Cricket Delovely papers, rhinestones, and Unity store kit stamps.

Because, well, 2 extras kids all day deserves CHOCOLATE!!

I also made an end of the year gift for my teaching assistant (and moreso, my FRIEND). My daughter Katy has an amber bead necklace. Genuine amber beads are supposed to allow amber absorption into the skin and help with pain relief and calming. We bought them for Katy for 2 reasons...They are supposed to help with teething (and, hey, calming sounds great in general... :D) and they are just so CUTE! See exhibit A...

(Notice that Katy requires TWO headbands...little diva girl!)

So my teaching assistant has taken to the idea of something that could provide calming. Whenever she gets a little stressed, she says, "Amber beads!!" So it was only natural (haha...) that I purchased some adult-sized amber beads for the two of US! My friend Jill sells these beads (become a fan of Heavenly Blessed on Facebook for more details), along with lots of other cute and mostly natural products. We also get our Baby Legs from her. Little Miss Katy LOVES her Baby Legs. ;) I tucked a necklace in this little pillow box (die cut using my Big Shot and SU die).

Card Patterns 64

I was really itching to make a card with a rainbow on it yesterday. I needed several graduation cards, though, so I thought a rainbow would be appropriate!

The card base is PTI Pure Poppy, and i punched the right side using the SU scalloped border punch. I added lots of Silver Rhinestones down the side. :) The rainbow is from the April Unity store kit, Super Sweet & Stuck on You. I added Cotton Ball White Fun Flock to the clouds and popped them up on Pop-it Circles. The ribbon is Lemon Tart Swiss Dotted Satin from PTI. Notice that sentiment? It's PERFECT for a graduate!! The "You did it!" is actually a rub-on from the NEW Basic Grey Greetings Black Rub-ons.

I followed the Card Patterns Sketch 64 for the layout of this card. It's a great one, as always! Hope you enjoy your Sunday! If you have a few minutes, don't forget to join the fun of our Sketch Challenge. I'll choose a random winner (of a Prima flower product of their choice!) Monday afternoon!

How about a cute strawberry-picking picture to leave you with? ;)

Etsy Inspired #88

Limelight Papercrafts has the privilege to once again sponsor the Etsy Inspired Challenge! We LOVE it when we get to work with them! The shops always provide such inspiration for crafting!
This week's Etsy challenge is inspired by the fabulous Creation Designs shop. My card was created based on this wonderful button bracelet (and the book it was displayed atop):

My card started as a Vintage Cream base. I layered on a sheet of Basic Grey Wassail patterned paper. The sentiment is actually a brand new Basic Grey Greetings Rub-on. These are SO easy to use and look professional! The ric rac is a die cut piece of cream felt, and the buttons are from PTI. Rhinestones are various colors from Kaisercraft.

The lucky winner this week will receive some NEW Basic Grey! Up for grabs are a package of Max & Whiskers Epoxy Stickers AND Buttons! All you have to do is visit the Creation Designs Etsy shop, be inspired by something in the store, and create a card based on the inspiration! Visit the Etsy Inspired Blog to link up your card!

DELOVELY WINNER!

It's time to announce a winner of the Delovely paper pad and Tiny Type stickers! The lucky winner is Cathy!! Cathy, email me with your address and choice of Tiny Type stickers (Pink or Turquoise), and I'll get that out to you!

StampinCathy said...

Your card is so pretty. Fabulous to me is all my creative and inspiring friends that share their talented and MOJO with us in blog land. Starting off the day with fabulous eye candy and even giveaways is totally FABULOUS.

Didn't win? No worries! Get your Delovely at LIMELIGHT!!! Happy shopping. :)

Fabulous Pantry...and Cookies!

Okay, this is, like, the WORST picture ever. Ever. But I wanted to share something crafty with you today and this is all I have! (The card has already been given away!) I am LOVING the wrinkle ribbon from MemrieMare's shop. This is the Cherub Blush, and it's so much fun! Very vintage-y and feminine...both totally in right now. I used Nook and Pantry papers and Pops stickers for this card. Nook & Pantry was featured in several cards in the most recent Paper Crafts magazine. :) Love those papers! The natural crochet trim above my wrinkled ribbon is from Limelight. The sentiment is from a previous Unity store kit...love it. ;) The flowers layered behind the Pops are die cut from the Simple Flower Embosslits (SU). If you notice the little pink epoxy dots in the centers, those are Pink Droplets. I love Droplets. ;) It's just fun to say. Droplets.

I also HAVE to share a good, CLEAN cookie recipe that I tried and fell in LOVE with last night! See, I definitely try my best to eat clean, but it's hard to find decent dessert recipes. And I LOVE my desserts! ;) I have a crockpot carrot cake recipe (made with spelt flour!!) that's pretty decent, but that's kinda it. And it's not even exactly like carrot cake. I saw a recipe on the Clean Eating Magazine website that I KNEW I had to try when I saw it. Chocolaty Goodness Cookies? That got my attention... And so I made them last night. My opinion? Chocolaty Goodness, indeed! They taste kinda like a brownie or even a chocolate lava cake to me! They are really chewy and fudgy. And the cool thing is that they have no refined sugar (you can get Sucanat, or dehydrated cane juice-Sucanat is a compilation of SUgar CAne NATural, at your health food store or even Trader Joe's), no egg yolks, and no FLOUR! Trust me, try these and you're sure to love them! The only thing I must say is that it was hard for me to find the arrowroot powder. I got mine at Earth Fare, our local healthy supermarket. I am unsure if there would be a substitute for that, but it's a starch....

CHOCOLATY GOODNESS COOKIES

INGREDIENTS:

  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 6 oz dark bittersweet chocolate, broken up
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups Sucanat, divided
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 4 1/2 tsp arrowroot powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly mist 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.
  2. Place chocolate in a microwavable bowl and heat on high until chocolate melts, approximately 2 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Using an electric mixer on high speed, beat egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually beat in 1 cup Sucanat and continue beating until mixture appears creamy. Add vanilla.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup Sucanat, cocoa and arrowroot powder, then beat into egg whites on low speed.
  5. Stir in warm chocolate and continue stirring gently until mixture thickens.
  6. Place rounded tablespoons of batter onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 10 minutes. Cool on sheet pans for an additional 10 minutes before transferring to racks to cool completely.

Sketch 47: FLOWERS!

Happy Thursday, friends! I am sooooooooooo glad it's Thursday! It's sketch day....AND.... tomorrow's Friday! LOL! I don't know about you, but we need a weekend around here! :) I hope you are having a fabulous week, and I hope you have a little crafting time to join in the sketchy fun around here this weekend!

We've set up the DT sketch cards in a blog hop format, as suggested by one of our sketch followers and participants. What a GREAT idea! We hope that this helps keep things nice and organized for you. You are at the first stop on the hop. Hope you enjoy the view. ;)

I started with a kraft card base and added on a layer of Jillibean Soup Head of Cabbage patterned paper (the birdhouses!). I accented my scallops with Deep Yellow Kaisercraft Rhinestones. I also added a rhinestone in the "o" of my sentiment, from the May Unity store kit. Sorry the sentiment seems so hard to see. It's not that hard to see in real life! Yikes! I used the reverse side of this paper (the brown argyle-ish print) to run across the bottom of the main focal paper. Around the argyle is a length of Yellow Wrinkle Ribbon tied in a bow. I added a Brown Canvas Flower (back in stock shortly) to the center of the bow, and here is where I tried to get creative! I punched a bird (using an SU bird punch...not sure of the name??) from cardstock and added a mixture of Lemonade Yellow Fun Flock and Silver Ultrafine glitter for some soft, sparkly "feathers". The bird's wing is lined in some small Split Pea rhinestones to help him really stand out and shine.

My card was created using a Vintage Cream base (and die cut shape), with my favorite Jillibean Soup Caraway Seeds patterned paper. Die cut is the SU Top Note die. Fast on Friday

I learned something very fun the other night... The largest Droplet (from Kaisercraft) fits PERFECTLY in the largest dotty burst in the PTI Dot Spot stamp set! I was quite thrilled because it's another way to make an ADORABLE simple card! I simply stamped the dots in Raspberry Fizz, added a Citrus Droplet, then stamped the sentiment, from the April Unity kit, Super Sweet & Stuck on You, in True Black ink. DONE!

That's all I've got for you today...a quick, happy card! Fast on Friday... ;) Don't forget to enter for my giveaway! It ends TONIGHT! :)

Petite Florals

Limelight just received a shipment from Lawn Fawn Stamps... SUCH CUTE STUFF! I had to open my personal Petite Florals set right away and create something with it! I can vouch that the quality of the Lawn Fawn Stamps is impeccable. You are sure to love both the cute images AND the quality with which they stamp.

I made a fun, cute card featuring LOTS of white space! I used white PTI cardstock as a base, and I mounted my main image onto the card base using Pop-it Dots. These cute flowers were built using stems and blooms from Lawn Fawn's Petite Florals stamp set. (Colors used are New Leaf, Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, and Summer Sunrise.) I ran a strip of Sticky Strip along the bottom of the rectangle and sprinkled on some Green Apple glitter for some fun grass! The "thanks" sentiment is from the April Unity kit, Super Sweet & Stuck on You (only $23 this week only!).

Speaking of things that grow, I thought you might enjoy an update on our little garden! We have plenty of sprouts, and we are ALL enjoying the fun! (And we're anticipating the yummy veggies, too!)

Here is our grape tomato plant. This is definitely Cameron's favorite! Both kids love tomatoes, especially the miniature ones, and this plant has grown so quickly. It's great that they can really see how fast it's growing!

Look! Some broccoli!

How CUTE is this little carrot sprout??

Cucumbers are Cameron and Katy's favorite thing to eat, so they cannot wait for some cucumbers to start growing on these sprouts...

**Don't miss my giveaway!**

Garden Window

I was in the mood to play with some ribbon today. I just love this ruffly curtain-like ribbon from May Arts. Tami suggested that we carry it, and I have since had SO much fun using it! It's so classic and girly and frilly. :) I think in this case, the ribbon makes it look like you are looking out through your kitchen window at the garden.

The patterned paper is October Afternoon. It's Depot Park from the Hometown collection. The paper is double-sided, and I used both sides on this little card. The ric rac was created using my PTI ric rac die and black felt. The card base was Ripe Avocado, and I rounded some of my corner edges...

I made two cards and tried two different additions to them, keeping the base the same. The first card features a Jillibean Soup Cool Beans (HUGE...MONDO) button with an SU flowery brad piece on top. A Deep Yellow Rhinestone is in the center to cover a whole. Haha.

The second version features another button from the Cool Beans package layered on top of a black Prima flower.
